Fabian Hurzeler will be working at the World Cup in a radio role. Will Danny Welbeck be there on the pitch?Maybe reading too much into it but Hurzeler mentioned the England squad today without being asked about it specifically. #bhafc #welbeckhttps://t.co/R2ryXxSXTQ— Brian Owen (@Brian__Owen) May 21, 2026 “Let's wait until tomorrow, that hopefully he will be announced for the England squad. “Then I think he gets the rewards he deserves because of his achievements. this season and therefore, hopefully he can do it another time for us on Sunday.”
Would be quite some revival . Think people will be happy enough if Watkins goes as well but instead of Watkins will be controversial.
It just says Quansah's versatility will count in his favour, not the he will go. Its an opinion piece, Mokbel doesn't know the full squad, or the starting 11. It would be weird if he hadn't started contacting people, given its less the 24hrs before its made public.
Sure but I seem to remember you posting some of these supposed 'leaks' before with other squads and 50% of them are complete bollox.
It depends who they come from. Some sources are more accurate than others. The BBC, Athletic, Times and Telegraph are normally accurate for example
Yeah no shit, most sources are complete rubbish (you post these constantly like Talk sport!). I don't think any of those publications you listed themself are accurate/to be believed. The only ones I'd trust if it came directly from the Twitter account of Ornstein, Mokbel or Romano.
Ian Ladyman from the Mail says he heard the Ivan Toney rumour twice this week from 2 people - "one who has a vested interest in Toney being in the squad, and one who absolutely doesn't - and this person is absolutely convinced Toney is in the squad" He says he hasn't written it up as it's so "out there". But he's "quite happy to speak about it because it's certainly out there and people are hearing it. The suggestion is with 26, he can take a rogue one and he wants another big Number 9" Presumably this is where Cross was getting it from?
I didn't think Toney got called up by Tuchel. But apparently he got 2 minutes against Senegal. I really don't see Tuchel picking him after ignoring him all year and not picking him in the March tryouts.

Standard Sport football writers pick their England World Cup squads. I’ve left behind Phil Foden AND Cole Palmer. Just don’t think 17 minutes off the bench in 30-degree heat is gonna be when they’ll suddenly come to lifeWith @MattVerri and @tabuteauS 🏴https://t.co/s7InOXK9KD— Dom Smith (@MrDomSmith) May 21, 2026 I'm kind of leaning MGW over Foden AND Palmer now. Most people have given up on Foden, but can't help feeling the same arguments 95% apply to Palmer. I think MGW has the form and ego to thrive
First leak, Talksport are saying Dean Henderson will be called u0 but will report late due to the Conference League final. Wonder if that leak suggests Wharton won’t be in And that a reserve goalkeeper might taken for cover during the training season.
Sky Sports list these as 16 guaranteed in their opinion. Pickford. D Henderson James O’Reilly Guehi, Konsa, Burn Rice, Anderson, J Henderson Bellingham, Rogers Saka, Rashford, Gordon Kane https://www.skysports.com/football/...emma-harry-kanes-deputy-and-the-16-guarantees They think five centre backs and five CM’s.
Why would that be a leak? It’s obvious Henderson is going to be the squad, they likely don’t mention Wharton because they don’t know if he’s in the squad or not!
There's been quite a change in his form though. Surely a good coach is reactive. He's swallowed the bitter pill with Foden - and I can't see how different standards apply to Palmer? What is it 4 non-pens and 3 assists in all comps all season?
