Chalobah has played right back at times and on the right hand side of a back three. Tuchel knows him and he's also 6ft 3.5in tall. Don't be surprised.
Come on now, lets not read thing that aren't written, especially when they don't even hint at what you are suggesting.,
Tino Livramento suffers muscular injury and is a doubt for England’s forthcoming World Cup matches, with FA to confirm extent later. Trevoh Chalobah among options to replace Newcastle defender. https://t.co/UpsD7zx8f4— Sami Mokbel (@SamiMokbel_BBC) June 16, 2026 Sami Mokbel also mentioning Chalobah as a possible replacement.
We need a right back called up. I can't imagine reece James not having niggles. It would be depressing as ******** Chalobah or Quansah starting at right-back. I know spence can play there but I would make sense to call up hall Lewis-skelly or even trent so spence can concentrate on left-back. We can't go one tournament without an injury. Just when u think things are looking up on that front
Read somewhere that 65000 UK passport holders are going to the World Cup. Now a lot of those will be Scotsmen and they apparently had 30k in Boston over the weekend. I think we’ll have 5-10k in Texas. Then up to 20k for the next two games in Boston and New Jersey. There are also a good few hundred thousand British passport holders living in America, so maybe we’ll get extra support from those living over there. Must cost thousands to go over so fair play to anyone making the trip.
I know but I'd feel much easier if a specialist rightback was called up. I was looking forward to seeing Livramento's engine getting up and down the line
Some of the most frightening words ever written about the team ‘Livramento was picked ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold and would have provided Tuchel with an option on the right and the left side of defence. England’s other full-backs are Reece James, Nico O’Reilly and Djed Spence, while Jarell Quansah can also play at right-back and Dan Burn is able to play at left-back. James and O’Reilly are in line to start against Croatia. It remains to be seen how quickly Livramento’s replacement can join up with the squad. If it is Chalobah, then he can provide cover in the centre of defence and at right-back. Livramento played as a second-half substitute in the victory over New Zealand, with Spence starting at left-back in the same warm-up game. James believes he is fit enough to start every game for England at the World Cup. But given his historic injury problems, playing James in all three group games ahead of a busy knock-out phase schedule would represent a risk. Spence is having to play with a protective mask after having his jaw broken by Chelsea striker Liam Delap. Quansah started at right-back against New Zealand.’ https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...nto-out-of-the-world-cup-with-injury-england/
But he needs to cover left-back too. I can't imagine o'reilly and James playing every game. It would be nice to have specialist players In the squad
All it says is Chalobah is on the stand by list. Doesn't mean he's going to be picked. I think we should all calm down.
Surely it makes more sense to have Spence as the backup right back and call up another left back? The left-back pool, Hall, Shaw etc is better than whatever right-backs are knocking about. Which right-back would you call up now? It's obviously never going to be Trent. Ben White is injured.
