Congo are awful. Scraped a playoff win vs Jamaica and Uzbekistan are actually a proper team.

    Is that at altitude?

apopan, Mexico has an average altitude of approximately 1,577 meters (5,174 feet) above sea level. Because the city stretches across the Guadalajara Valley and features rolling hills, exact elevations vary from about 1,500 meters in the city center up to 2,000+ meters in higher terrains

Mexico City seem to around 2200m. So if its 1500, its significantly lower. No idea how much different the "playing in altitude" effect is.

Based on what I've seen so far Czechia could top the group. Don't know about South Korea, they look weaker than before but could also beat every team in the group on their day lol.

That's pretty much always the case with draws. You always get good value with the bookmakers. The bookies have a draw at 12/5 for that game which places it as one of the most likely games to end all square when compared with other World Cup matches.

The reality is there are four places separating the two sides in the world rankings, while each side has a handful of good quality, well-known players.

DR Congo are the bookies' favs but they're known to struggle going forward while not conceding many.

I'm not predicting a draw here because I don't have a clue but neither do any of us. None of us have watched either team.

Talking about either team getting 3+ points and reaching the KO stages like it's a likelihood is pure speculation. Every outcome is on the cards in that group.

What is genuinely likely is both Norway and Senegal beating Iraq and getting a minimum of three points.

Why can't we have John champion doing the England games instead of matterface. He's 10 times better

I have backed Uzbekistan because of their relative success in youth football and their results over last 3/4 years.

Matterface does the England games. I'm saying Jon champion is better than him

Yes, but if the 3rd group K team qualify, there is a 100% probability we meet them, if not we probably meet the group I team.

So I won't say that it is overall a higher probability of meeting Norway/Senegal, even assuming they qualify.

I wasn't saying it was higher either, I said it's equally likely.

People slagged off our qualifying group but I am starting to think Albania would qualify from this group.

I know we've seen a second goal but this is probably the worst World Cup opener I've ever seen.

The quality is poor but the atmosphere has been so subdued since the 20th minute. Feels like a friendly.

Assuming they replace the Czechs, then beating South Africa and not losing heavily in either of the other two games likely gets you through as a third place qualifier.

If Mexico top the group who are they likely to play in the round of 32?

It's been dreadful, and I suspect we'll have some more games of a similar standard before the groups are done.

I was more thinking of the old format of getting into the top two places.

They'd definitely have a shot at that, given they are very solid defensively. I've not seen anything from Mexico that would indicate they can break down a well drilled defence.
