http://www.fifa.com/events/playergala/2002/results/wp2002cw.pdf Pichon received five 1st place coaches votes (Ireland, Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Niger and Switzerland), five 2nd place votes (Norway, England, Iceland, Tahiti....and on April Heinrichs' ballot) plus 2 3rd place votes (Scotland and Portugal). Lorrie Fair got a third place vote from Italy (crap, she was on Lou Tilley's Sports Connection last night as one of the Lou's Cannons, a roundtable discussion of sports of all sorts and I missed it ). Michelle Akers got a first place vote from Argentina ( to the infinite power on the latter) Paul
Anyone else concerned that argentina voted for a player who hasnt played in 3.5 years :sigh: womens soccer still has a long way to go.
Leave Elizabeth alone. There's probably a rule that says that you can' vote for a person from your team's country first. Still not second or third. Anyway, Katia did do quite well this season. I like Kazakhstan's third choice. I'll take a guess and say she will probably be leading the country in their first Euro Championship campaign. I like the Brazillian team's coach's first choice. A good choice indeed. Here's a question. Where are Australia's picks?
Thanks for the clarification. See, I'm not all-Grinch, all the time I mea-culpa when it needs to be done... Paul
