Here's to hoping they turn it all around vs Iran.

As it stood after two games we were one of the best 4 (out of 6) 3rd placed teams that also go through to the last 16 but now we need 3 points against Iran to go through as Argentina (Groups A and B have already played 3 games) is 3rd with 3 points (+1 goal difference) and Germany is also 3rd with 4 points (-1) we at the moment have 1 point (-1) so any victory will take us through.

    Portugal 0 Iran 1 HT

Portugal had two chances missed by Gomes and Ferro, Iran had two chances from defensive lapses and scored one. Need to score 2 in the second half at least.

    Portugal 2 - 1 Iran FT

And 86' minute winner sees us advance. A 90th minute Zambia equalizer vs Costa Rica means we finish second in the group.

We deserved a bit of luck, in the second half, we scored from a frango, had a penalty revoked that could of put Iran 2-1 up due to the referee consulting the video referee and a own goal in the 86' for the win :ROFLMAO:.

We play South Korea on Tuesday in the last 16.

Still, we did out chance all 3 teams so we did deserve some luck. Also it wasn't a penalty for Iran so video replay just showed the truth.

I really don't give this team much of a chance if any against South Korea.

the problem is plain to see, its putting the ball in the back of the net our strikers are missing chance after chances will not b able to do that in the next rounds

and yes it was good to see video ref doing its job because against costa rica they fvked up it was not pens for both teams and not a sending off

We play the hosts South Korea. Can this group get some revenge for 2002?

Half time South Korea 0-2 Portugal

I don't know who is more upset, the Korea coach or the British commentator

Korea getting owned on their own turf , see what happens when there is a video ref unlike at 2002?

This is football, not star craft . Good riddance hope we score more.

the funny thing is it looks like we probably landed on the "Easy Bracket", Uruguay probably next would theoretically be our only real obstacle until the final

    Euro 2016 all over again
    LOL

1-3 FT Xadas with another and Korea late goal, to the particular delight of the British commentator

Slow start but they're coming good now. Some sublime skills in tight spaces.

Finishing 1st in the group was likely to have a tougher route.

Looked like a different team today. Getting better with each passing game. I personally wrote them off after the second game.

We actually looked comfortable for the first time.

Diogo Dalot is a horse, what a upcoming player at Rb. Porto better give him a chance within the next year or so.

Pepe makes a huge difference in terms of ball movement and passing, Xadas looks like a completely different player. Gedson had a good cameo as well.

I would only change Yuri for Empis at LB and Ze gomes for Bruno Costa, pushing Xande Silva outwide a bit more.

Uruguay will be difficult, one of the best teams so far.

The defense will need to be tighter against a good counterattacking team that I expect Uruguay to be.

Uruguay beats Saudi Arabia 1-0 by a silly penalty. I was cheering for the Saudi's (who i thought were marginally better)

    Portugal vs Uruguay next.
