could someone explain how to me how Haiti is still ranked so low? They haven't moved at all even after winning the caribbean cup.

These particular rankings are not so far off from the past FIFA rankings.

not quite as rediculous I agree but I think the entire region should be 5 to 10 spots higher. Should change after the Gold Cup I guess.

Yes Haiti was 102nd I believe back in December. However, I don't get how Haiti actually lost points since the last rankings. Does anyone have the answer to that?

Haiti must have had past results become less valuable.

I don't think FIFA will ever come up with a good ranking system. Too many factors that a computer just can't compute.

I don't know if computer capability is the problem, but I've previously said that the rankings would be better if each game became slightly less valuable for 48 months until it no longer counted rather keeping the same value for 44 months and losing a lot of value for 4 months. The ranking methodology change last year did nothing to fix that. Considering different confederations have their continental tournaments and qualifiers at different times and frequencies, one could argue it would be better if all matches during the four year period were weighted equally with respect to time (but not with respect to importance of match). That could eliminate many countries in a confederation moving up when they play their confederational tournament and down when the results from that tournament got devalued a lot once a year.
