    WTF, WTF and WTF.

Fifa 2002 had Clint Mathis as the backup LB for the team. I wonder if they fixed that one yet.

John Obrien is rated something like 84 in the game. The highest on the team.

Also...It's incredible how lifelike Landon looks. Fun game to play man...lemme tell ya!

That sound pretty accurate. I mean you may think Landon and Mathis are great but you have to remember that they are doing this against MLS quality teams, while O' Brien has been solid in Europe for a top club. I dont think there's any US player out there playing top soccer abroad, except maybe Friedel who's doing great at Blackburn.

You also have to take into account that youre rating MLS players vs WORLD. If this was just an MLS game then Mathis and Donovan would prob have ratings in the 90's.

you know that you can increase their stats/attributes right? I increased everyone to what I thought their real ability was/is.

    How do you do that?

The FIFA data is absolutely horrendous.

Jeff Agoos is rated thirty points higher than Eddie Pope.

    Enough said.

That's a fantastic game. I didn't get to play it much and when I did it was over the weekend at my tournament. Someone brought an X-box and they let me play second half with Juventus. I might get it for Christmas.

how do they do the moves on the PC version? On consoles they are using the right anolog stick and it really blows,,,this version with button controlled moves would be alot more fun to play.

I would be interested in knowing this too.

I am torn: I would like to get Fifa for the computer so that I can edit the data and make it somewhat realistic, but at the same time it is more fun to play on a console. Is it possible to play Fifa 2003 online?

Anyway, since this in the USA Men forum I will point out that Fifa 2003 rates Jeff Agoos higher than Christian Chivu...

I wonder why EA Sports doesn't simply jack the data from Championship Manager and translate it into their categories and into a 10-point system. It would be infinitely more accurate, and really, who would ever know?

    LOLhahahahahaLOLhahahaha...good one EA

Anyhow...would anyone mind listing the rating for the US Nats? last game was completly nuts. Also, in real life the main thing that the players lack is technical skill, but stil varies player to player.

like DaMarcus, using the last rating system,
would they rate his speed a 7 and his strength a 1?
if they do this then I would suspect that most of the US players to be in the low 70s upper 60s

I play the pc version with a gravis pro controller,,,I can do all the moves. I changed the players to to reflect where I think they should be at. I also changed one of the guys on the roster,,think it was goose, changed his name to mine and made him a striker. I am on my way to winning the golden boot in the WC that I set up! I am also the leading scorer for the Revs! Damn i am good

    Yeah, on begginer.....

In the World Cup, Landon was an 82. What is he now? How about Brad and Kasey? Are they still low 60's, high 50's, or has someone at EA finally realized they are two of the best keepers in the premiership and given them a proper rating.

The PC version, all you need to know is A, S, D, W, E

Do they give you a pool of players to choose from like in FIFA World Cup? 2002's lack of players really annoyed me.

The rosters are so screwed. Let's see here...I have Kreis starting becuase he's rated higher than a few people who started for us, there's no Owen on England, Ronaldo on Brazil or Kahn for Germany.

The U.S. is rated about two 'bars' below Mexico. Here's the ratings for the U.S. players:

Friedel is 78 with 8 skill
    Pope 42
    Regis 79
    Jones 76
    Mastroeni 64
    Reyna 79
    O'Brien 87
Donovan 71 (his speed is a depressing 7)
    Wolff 73
    Mathis 69
    Agoos 78
    Stewart 62
    McBride 59
    Keller 61 with 6 skill.

I'm disappointed in these, to say the least.

actually you can do everything on the pc that you can on the video versions, you can bend kicks, thru balls, all the little tricks, as long as you have a controller and not the keyboard.....beginner, my butt.

I know right? When i was playing my friend with Germany I figured I had him beat because of Kahn. NOPE! Mathis ate me alive :) So I figure...maybe there's no Kahn in the game for some reason(he didn't want his name in the game, so he didn't sign off) However he starts for Bayern in the game...and might i add...he is mad good.

All in all i love the game...although the "right analog" move thing stinks. All it is, is a quick cut with the ball and a burst of speed.

I've gotten it to do stepovers and one time a move where it looked like I ran at the defender with the ball, stuck my foot in front of the ball on a run, stuck my other foot on the ball, and did a 360 around him, then did another weird spin move around the defener behind him. I was just wildly clicking the freestyle control.

It was really cool and I think if you can learn to control it and my eyes didn't deceive me here it'll add a lot to the game

I saw on that lame Fox Sports World Report where Kahn was taking legal action against FIFA 2003 because he didn't want his name or likeness used. I guess they didn't use it for the national side but he is in the Bayern side?

    Is Reyna in the game?

When you say there's no Owen or Ronaldo, are their names at least replaced with their numbers, 10 and 9?

  22. Owen and Ronaldo probably have liscensing issues, just like how in NBA Jam you couldn't be MJ or Shaq, becuase they have their own video games and such (if Shaq-Fu can be considered a game). As far as I know, the best soccer game is FIFA 99 for the playstation. By today's standards the graphics suck, but the play control is great in that one. You actually have to pass and stuff. The best sports game ever is still the original EA NHL Hockey(1992?) for Sega Genesis.

They are still on their club teams (Liverpool and Real Madrid) but they are not on their national teams.

Yes, Reyna is in the game. He's not too bad, and his character resembles him quite a bit.

Ronaldo is on the Real Madrid squad.
Also, the gameplay in MLS E************************ 2000 is much better than FIFA 99.
