for anyone there on sunday.....that old tire smell just fills the air....

otherwise...looks good and the ball bounces and rolls true.....

everytime the ball bounces or a player kicks the ball...a little bit of the the tire/sneaker/sand combo comes up.....

Anyone else notice the little grey clounds following the ball? Did anyone get a chance to ask Clint how it felt taking a tumble on the new surface? You could hear the collective groan everytime Clint went down.

and on the bright side we finally got box goals....we're starting to look less like a two-bit operation....

I was wondering how sliding, diving, and injuries feel like in the new turf?.

injuries probably don't feel so hot regardless what type of surface they occur on....

as for sliding and diving...i have no idea...

None of the guys seemed shy about sliding on the surface, even for an exhibition game..I think it was Moreno who took a sliding shot on goal, but he did immediately inspect for strawberries...the clouds of synthetic dust were clearly evident with every touch of the ball...and the box goals definitely look sharp...

You do not get rug burns or any type of strawberry on field turf. It is very comfortable to play on and doesn't prohibit you from doing anything that you would be able to do on grass.

I saw the game's pictures and it look fantastic. I even look like the real thing. I think it will look perfect on TV too. Last year the Giant Stadium's field was among the worst in the league

In GS's case fieldturf is better than actual grass. Just because it's so hard to maintain a playable surface at GS.

You would be cheap ass too if you had a money losing tenant constantly participating in un-american activities.

LOL! As for the actual turf, this first year will show most of the "settling" effect taking place. The same thing happened at Nebraska, Washington State University, Husky Stadium and Seahawks Stadium. The first year of use settles much of the looser rubber granules and after the first year a lot of that challenge lessens considerably. Since Giants Stadium gets so much use, it may well settle faster. You've got the Mutts, Giants, Jets and whatever else goes on there, which is really two to three times the use most other stadiums get. I hope it works well, and expect it to really.
