I'm going to have to start looking for more good looking women to draft.

But for now, I'm going to fill my Borgia Chair for Advanced Combinatorics and Political Intrigue with Thufir Hawat.

There are a lot of selections I could make to start out round 3, but with Gringo taking up all of the hot women, I feel the need to secure my health/phys ed/sex ed teacher.

Every faculty needs an administrator, right?

I think my rebel draft position follows GringoTex, so here goes. First I thought about trying to pry away Dr. Frankestein form Howard Zinn (being a breakaway league like the ABA gives one this advantage!). But then I decided upon another scientist . . .

DR. HANS ZARKOV! Did Flash Gordon and Dale Arden save the earth? Hardly! Couldn't even have confronted Ming the Merciless withour Zarkov's ship. I mean, Zarkov was as heroic as Indiana Jones but without as good a publicist. Man saved the world! And I think that, even if he stinks at the teaching part of being a teacher, his combination of mad scientist vibe + svaed the world heroism = lots of money for the school. Especially if he looks more like the Zarkov of the 1980 film rather than Mr. Dour in the image above. I give you TOPOL!

Looks like Minorthreat's clock expired early this morning. The school needs a headmaster, and since Albus Dumbledore was taken (and who knows why Dean Wormer was taken), I'll go with:

    Mr. Chipping.

This one I've been waiting for - now on to Sam Kinnison as the crazy history/poli sci prof from the same film! Professor Terguson . . .

(taken from IMDB's memorable quotes page for Back to School)

[ater a female student answered correctly why America pulled out of Vietnam]
Professor Terguson: Is she right? 'Cause I know that's the *popular* version of what went on there. And a lot of people like to believe that. I wish I could, but I was *there*. I wasn't here in a class room, hoping I was right, thinking about it. I was up to my knees in rice paddies, with guns that didn't work! Going in there, looking for Charlie, slugging it out with him; While
[students] like you were back here partying, putting headbands on, doing drugs, and listening to the goddamn Beatle albums! Oh! Oh! Oh!

[Rodney Dangerfield interrupts to lay off the student]
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Professor Terguson: You remember that thing we had about 30 years ago called the Korean conflict? And how we failed to achieve victory? How come we didn't cross the 38th parallel and push those rice-eaters back to the Great Wall of China?
[rips a desk apart] Then take the ***** wall apart brick by brick and nuke them back into the ****** stone age forever? Tell me why! How come? Say it! Say it!
Thornton Melon: [incensed] All right. I'll say it. 'Cause Truman was too much of a *********** wimp* to let MacArthur go in there and blow out those Commie bastards!
Professor Terguson: Good answer. Good answer. I like the way you think. I'm gonna be watching you.
Thornton Melon: [to his classmates] Nice guy. Really seems to care. About what I have no idea.

Think so. For a faculty draft, our truancy rate is pretty high.

Well, in that case, I choose a teacher about whom I am quite excited. I'm still not at home, do I can't grab a pic.....

From Finding Nemo, I pick the awesome rideable teacher who's not afraid to take his students to the dropoff.... Mr. Ray!!!

There's no one with whom I'd rather explore the deep blue sea... except Jessica Alba... if you saw her diving video somewhere, you know what I mean. Someone please post a pic... of Mr. Ray... I found one, but couldn't get it posted with the Treo.

    Sorry I missed my pick.

For Round #3, I select Miss Bliss from the early seasons of Saved by the Bell.

I can't seem to find a picture of her though.

Since Iceblink went, I do believe that I'm up.

Let me know if this pick isn't kosher, seeing as it's based on a real person, but undoubtedly the movie bent the truth a little bit...

Okay, I'm tired of waiting for anybody to object to Escalante. Here's my next pick. I'm going with a combination of literature, babe-osity, and early education. Not just any Jane Eyre, but Jane before her promise was blighted by that serial co-opter of women's lives, Rochester; this Jane Eyre:

Before he was the world's most self-defeating school administrator and consumate mama's boy, he was a motorcycle-riding, cigarette smoking, Vietnam Vet. For my third pick, and as head administrator, I select:

Do we wait for Minorthreat, who has not even picked from last round yet, or do we skip him until he decides to rejoin us?

Minorthreat will be skipped until he makes his backed up selections. Once he's caught up, then his next pick will have the 12 hour window.

The rebel draft waits for no one! It has been challenging to make sure that I step on no "accredited" member's picks with mine - my only goal is to get recognized by our esteemed draft chairman in one of those comprehensive lists at the end of a given round . . .

    For my investigative journalism department:

DR. ROSENROSEN (can't use his other names here)!

No, not for med school, but who better to teach the journalism types how to get anywhere, any time? But I can't hire I.M. Fletcher (no academic credentials) . . . so I'm going with an alter-ego with credentials (faked, yes, but that hardly bothers me!).

In that case, I'll go ahead. My school will obviously be a liberal arts school, so I can never have enough English teachers.

But at least this is one English teach that can also kill you if you get out of line.
