Damn, there goes my shot at endorsement contracts. Back to life as a small-town club pro? Try my luck on the tour? Decisions... Well done, Norsk. Jacen: great idea and thanks for running it.
Okay. Just for kicks (alert me if any of these have been used before)... Demosthenes' School For Gifted Youngsters 1. Principal - Joe Clark from LEAN ON ME He'll get their asses in line. 2. Assistant Principal - Laura Roslin from the new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA For a softer touch.
10. Physics - Prof. Jerry Hathaway from REAL GENIUS Okay, it's a deadshot of the actor who played him. But you know the guy.
Great faculty. This pick reminded me that I wanted to pick Antonio Vargas, the scruffy paso doble teacher (and Fran's dad) from Strictly Ballroom as my dance instructor, but forgot about him for some reasoan.
Well, what do ya know... http://www.filmcritic.com/misc/empo...9cca891783036a0408257233000837b7?OpenDocument From filmcritic.com The 10 Best Teachers in Movie History
Had #4 and #9. Disagree with #8; her role was way too small to merit inclusion in the top 10. Then again, that could be said for #7 as well. In a draft of 10 different faculties of 10 teachers each, however, they would merit inclusion.
I have #5, Mr. Hand. I think he was one of my first choices. I picked him for pretty much the same reason too. They probably saw our thread and decided to go with it. I don't blame them. It was good.
Time for a bump: there's been a rare but necessary change in our faculty. Despite tenure being nearly sacrosanct, we've completed a disciplinary review and 1) revoked tenure and 2) fired one of these people for being a scumball serial rapist: Dr. Huxtable - Dr. Cosby - is out. We stress that all of the heinous things he did were outside of university time, and we will endow a new position in the Women's Center to promote awareness of sexual assaults and call attention to predators.
Dr. Hud Dr. Huxtable was an OB/GYN. Was he part of this draft? BTW, nice bump! I'd forgotten about this draft. What a blast! One of my favorites!
I pulled this up from the depths of BigSoccer to share with my wife and daughter, since we rather randomly watched "Flash Gordon" and "The Man Who Knew Too Little' on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They are linked here in this thread since I picked profs from both films, way back when we had this draft.
