Quite calm by comparison. Bro and Hal are out of money so its up to me to overpay for players. I will do my part.

Just put a bid out for Ferdinand thinking someone would trump, but no takers. I think that's what Hal said happened to him.

I have a couple others out there. You guys need to bid in order to save me.

my new fflo strategy is to do the opposite of what I think. I think crouch is one of the worst players ever to wear an england shirt , right up there with Carlton Palmer. So he's bound to do good just to spite me.

    or something

you mean the 0.75 becomes 0.8, right? :)

we bid in 10ths..... not too costly a gamble in any event...

and 9 for a portsmouth df? I know both portsmouth and West ham have bought in some good players, but i dont think they are 10 euro defense teams?

A West Ham 'defender' who scored in the FA Cup semi with a one-inch tap-in (I think it was the semis) and regularly takes cracks from 20 yards. ;)

That was me at "overpay central." I did not want to pay that much. Someone else force it upon me.

Counting on him to play midfield, but get defense scores when available. But 10+?

Portsmouth is currently the best defense in the league, statistically....

There goes another one. Hal, where are you?

I like Fabregas, but not that much.

    Bid people.

I can no longer keep track, but I think you outbid me on that one. It was the classification as a defender that made him so intriguing. If he plays in the midfield and scores like he did last year or better AND gets a defender bonus on occasion to boot, could be a very nice pick up.

'Cept that's now a spot he'll share with Mascherano.

Now I'm off, my Kolo Toure in my satchel.

Wow, that was close. Thank you to whoever took Downing. Another of the pot-shot bids. Great player, don't get me wrong. Just more than I want to pay at the moment.

or not, and we'll find west ham's offense has taken it to a whole new level, with benefits for all of them. similar Qs for zamora and harewood who went in round 1 -- who was helped and who was hurt (on an individual fantasy basis) by yesterday's moves?

and thus the use of the word "currently" - but i must confess that i think they're looking decent, abthough certainly aided by their early season schedule

Think so as well, upgraded in a smart way could be challenging for the little cup entry perhaps

Got carried away last night trying to see what bid it would take to beat the already in place max on a player (not downing or was it) and found I had bid about 75% more than I thought the player was wortth to me:eek:

    Inflation Continues

It's nice to see people continue to inflate prices on 'second-tier' players.

Soon you'll all have as little money left, as Hal and myself.

    :D

I guess he's not into bidding wars, so the price-hiking bluffers will be left with players they don't really want and a hole in their budgets.

Essou-Ettoko went for 5.7? I missed defending my 5.2 bid for him while riding my bike. I loved how that guy manhandled Diouf in the first match, looking like a younger Gabe Heinze.

Also missed defending my 2.5 for Owen. What steals!

The Moral to the story, if you want someone.... put 'Max Bids' on.

Owen just takes up space until January..... then he'll play three games and get crooked again.

    Bad injury history there.

    :(

Essou is amongst the steals of the draft right now for sure.
