Good news boys, since I'm not able to do a play by play, uefa.com has gratiously decided to do one for you. footballnl.com says we should be able to win the match 2-0, even with us being out of form. Here are the probable lineups from feyenoord.com PROBABLE LINE-UPS FEYENOORD Zoetebier; Swerts, Van den Berg, Paauwe, Snoyl; Kuyt, Schreuder, Ono, Lurling; Buffel and Leonardo. FK TEPLICE P. Kolár; Dolezal, Rada, Hunal, Leitner; Verbír, Horváth, Vorísek, Lengyel (Tesarík); Bencík, Rezek.
Well this is quite the whole we've dug for ourseleves. Down 0-2 with those goals being critical road goals. In the return match I say let's throw caution to the wind and start, Buffel, Kuyt, Lurling, van Persie, Ono and every other attacker we have, so if we go down, we go down swinging. The thing I don't understand, when Ono got hurt, why bring in defensive van Wonderen? and not offensive van Persie? That switch makes no sense.
Glad to hear you finally got DSL, a day early? But we were a man down and a goal down with Ono in, who can't play defense at all. Brave Sir Robin must still have an ankle problem.
Ebi would have been fine, we already took Lurling off for Song (ok, not the best defender, but he is a defender). Plus van Wonderen was just coming back from his injury. It just makes more sense IMO to bring on another attacker for Ono. -- Oh and I just realized, that our return match with Teplice is on Thanksgiving in the US.
Nice! Football on TV and UEFA.com You can never tell what Bert is thinking, plus Baan isn't giving him much to work with.
Arrgh! Disaster. Or... The squad has created the opportunity for an amazing comeback. I think disaster, I couldn't believe what I was reading.
my sources said" Swerts was sent off by a ref 50 meters away from the play" "Zoetebeir was lazy on the first goal. Showed no respect for the shot" "Song has no clue"
The Swerts play wasn't really disputed was it? Didn't the guy have a break away, and Swerts pull him down? Zoetebeir is always lazy, time to put our backup in, who played so brilliantly the second half of last season, whose name escapes me. Song shouldn't be allowed to play defense, and looking at it, Swerts shouldn't be either. Both are mid-fielders that we are pushing back, because of Baan's incompetence. Remeber how good Emerton and Song were when they could switch between the two on the right flank? That's the ideal situation for Song, not strickly right back. Depending on what happens in the second leg of this tie, and how we do in the league and Amstel Cup will determine if we keep Baan and Bert. However, I'm not giving up yet. Yes, we are two road goals down, but we have the fire power to get back into the match, it's just I'm not sure we have the defense to sustain us.
According to my boys in Rotterdam, the Teplice attacker put his arm back at Swerts to fend him off, Swerts pushed the arm away and attacker went down like Monica Lewinsky with a cigar. Song's not up for it. Look at PSV's Koreans - they can play. Lodewijks is the backup. Solid, steady, never gives up. ZOetebier is pants. I am curious how things are going in front office now.
Time to bump this up. Big matchday tomorrow for us. A lot of people will probably be rooting for us just so we don't blow up the coefficient. Down two road goals in Czech Republic do we have a chance? I say 3-1 goals from van Persie, Kuyt, then a winner from Buffel.
I like the way you think. I think RvP will be key in this game, and Teplice will not have an answer for him. Nice way to spend Thanksgiving, watching scores on the net.
Love him or hate him, Song is our man at right back with Swerts out (red card). This looks pretty similar to our lineup the last matchday. Except van Persie on the right? Lodewijks; Song, Van Wonderen, Paauwe, Snoyl; Lurling, Schreuder, Ono, Van Persie; Buffel, Kuyt No word on wether uefa.com is doing a play by play, and I probably won't try to do one because the Packers are playing. Match time is 18:00 which would mean noon here?
Well Song may be the answer tomorrow as we need to attack. Now that I have FSW in the bedroom, I'll be one happy guy. Too bad we are getting Barca and not Feyenoord.
No live updates from uefa.com but if you want to listen to the match in dutch you can thanks to Rutger.
