I not at all surprised to see Gago held in the high esteem that Carlitos and Javier. As far as being more expensive than Masche, well he's proven that he has at the very least the same talent level plus Real wanted him bad enough to where they probably spent a bit more than another club would have. Just my twe cents.
Gago wilted under the pressure of the last games, and when he wasn't running the show he faded. That kind of player doesn't merit that much money
Uhuh so those last games invalidate every else he's done with Boca and helped them win. When he wasn't running the show? How about when Insua was with Boca? Gago wasn't running the show then yet he was very solid. More can be said about Higuain. Scoring two goals against Boca doesn't merit that price.
He'll get over it. He's handled pressure before. More than feeling the pressure, I speculate that he was distracted by thinking about all the money that's going to come his way. Sure, it's unproffesional, but we're talking about a very young kid. How would we respond if we were in his shoes at his age?
Probably i would have responded in a more unprofessional manner than he did. it will be very interesting to watch him in La Liga.

I'm not talking about Higuain now am I Gago is a damn good player, and for the good of our football, I want him to do well, but you can't really say he meritted a price tag greater than Tevez or Macsherano. EDIT: BTW, my main gripe with Gago was that he didn't perform at the same level under La Volpe. La V might have been an idiot, but he was still playing in his preferred position. That's why I say that when he wasn't the pillar (Which even La Volpe said he wasn't going to use him as one, when he arrived), he struggled.
Tevez and Mascherano can't even get into a team that is struggling against relegation so perhaps Gago is worth more than them. He's 20, he had a couple of bad games, it happens, even Ronaldhinio was getting criticised earlier this season for his performances. I've yet to see the player who plays well in every single game, I don't think he has ever existed.
Mascherano, when he was sold, was without a doubt the greatest prospect in that position. Tevez was, and still is, one of the players loaded with the most potential in the world. Also, take note that this phase in WH has only recently begun, give them time to adjust. And about what I would do in his place: I'd stay in River unless they really needed the money, I feel little love for any other club in the world.
First things first, I think the world of Javier and Carlitos but those two for the most part of been flops. I think the world of them as players but what we all expected has not even been sniffed from these two. Now as for Gago not performing well under LaVolpe. The fact that he didn't have his position changed means very little in the grand scheme of things. Everything else around Fernando change from tactics to formations. That being said, he may have been in his natural position but nobody else was. I don't think Fernando or any pro athlete should make the money they do but hey, we pay the ticket prices and ppv so why shouldn't he get the big cheque? Higuain got bank with an even shorter resume'. Good to be back in town amongst you boludos. Season greetings. m
Uh.... what? You said he was in his natural position but everything around him changed? Then how the hell can he succeed at an entirely new team?
Here's a suggestion, perhaps you should wait and see how he does at Real Madrid before you start slagging him off? Just a thought.
I'm free to give my views, and I wasn't slagging him in that post, you pissy bostaraza Moishe went on a longwinded post about why he couldn't play well under La Volpe, and in there he said that even if HIS position was unchanged, everything around him was different. That's basically moving to a new team, like he did, and he couldn't play up to his standards.
You want long winded, I can give you long winded. You said in your post that he stayed in his preferred position thus he should have never had the drop off in form. What you failed to realize is that the rest of the formation around him changed. Will he be instant impact at Real? I don't know but I do doubt it. Is he worth the price tag? If Javier and Carlitos got it have done nothing then why shouldnt Fernando? Your right though his moving to a new team will mean we'll have to wait a while to see how good he really is and how fast he's adapted. Based on your deductive reasoning and analytical prowess, Sheva and Ballack are not worth their contracts at Chelski being that they have not put up the same form from Bayern and Milan. Is that long winded enough for you now gayina. You sure spend a lot of time talking about BOCA players and BOCA in general on most of these forums. I wouldn't call it penis envy, more like Winning Envy. Don't worry, you still have Ortega
