Barry Ferguson seems to be on his way out of Ewood Park, but is he set for St James' Park? Mark Hughes concedes Ferguson's transfer request on Tuesday came as no surprise, with the midfielder eager to get away after 17 depressing months at Ewood Park.

The Scotland skipper has failed to settle at Ewood Park since moving south from Ibrox for £7.5m in August 2003, despite taking over the club captaincy this season.
Blackburn have already turned down one offer from Rangers, yet one rumour is that he would be happy to re-join the manager who first signed him ... Graeme Souness.

Nicky Butt has broken down in training and could struggle to get back into the Newcastle team this season, and Ferguson would be the perfect replacement.

I would be happy with Barry Fergusen like. I have always been impressed with him in the Scottish League. But there is only 10 days left of the window. :) :) :) :) Not really sunbeam.

He's now available for £6m; snap him up I would think.

The fact that you actually have someone who wants to play for Souness ought to tell you something. Half of Blackburn were up in arms-- and then you've got guys, talented players, like Duff, Friedel, and Ferguson who want to play for him.

(Last year when Duff wasn't playing for Chelsea there were some rumours that he had wished he'd stayed at Blackburn)

I mean this not as a criticism of Souness. I think that the players who want to play for him understand what he is trying to do and can be the core of a winning team. As far as Yorke and company go...well, I hate to include Bellamy in his company, but... faking an injury? What the fwck?

Also, did any one see this interesting article in the Guardian about players who fail at Newcastle and then succeed as soon as they leave....

Always the case sunbeam. Jon Dahl Tommason is a prime example. Stephan Gui'vach is another one. He won a world cup for christ sake.

Erm... when was that? When he dislocated his shoulder?

There's never been a time, that I can recall, that Duffer has sat on the bench outside of injury. Nor do I recall him ever saying he wished he stayed at Blackburn.

You want him, he's all yours. Don't worry, he'll only pick up about 5 red cards a season. Big stupid lug.

Well, it would boost attendence if it's known that DC United has yet another mental player on the pitch, able to explode at any moment. ;)
