Since when has Sir Fergie become against a little bit of trash talking? Sounds a bit hypocritical when the trash talking is against ManUtd. Fergie is "fumed" at McCarthy for talking of a giant killing, yet he thinks it just a part of the game when he does it. eh?

Fergie thinks he is the best manager in all of football, but I beg to differ. This guy has bashed managers, players , officials, clubs and fans for God knows how long. He believes that he is bigger than any player on the team, that's why he got rid of Beckham. The chip on his shoulder has become to much to carry, that's why they will win nothing this year...........

Results speak for themselves! People criticised him when got rid of Bruce ,Ince, Pallister and Hughes but he can out laughing. United are still Champions and remain Champions until May at least. No player is bigger than the manager and no person is bigger than the team. They'll win nothing this year not because of a chip on his shoulder but simply because Arsenal are claerly the best side in the Premiership this year, no matter how much he does that isn't gonna effect the way Arsenal play, he can only focus on United, who by the way are in the semi-final of the FA Cup so don't write the off the trophies list just yet. You have to see that United have lost two major players in Beckham and Ferdinand this year and have no doubt suffered. But all in all over the past 18 years he's done a pretty good job but not as good as Guy Roux of Auxerre!

I'd have to agree with Mack. Losing Rio Ferdinand to the completely non-standard suspension (8 freaking months!?!?!?!?) is the main reason they're not up there with Arsenal. Without Rio, even when Manchester United scores, they can't really lock down the game, and often end in ties they should win, or losses that they should have at least tied. Everything else is out of Fergie's control.

Those dropped points are particularly important this year, because of Arsenal's incredible form. Arsenal hasn't lost a single game in the Premiership yet, and that's unprecedented. Fergie cannot control that.

As far as the trash-talking, let's not let the waters be muddied by these feints of faux-ethics. Talk, both positive and negative, is simply applying spin to the psychological games that good managers play to motivate their own teams and distract opposing teams. The quality of the message isn't important. It's the effect that message has on the manager's team that matters. Thus, most managers, Fergie included, talk out of both sides of their mouth as the situation dictates.

I still think that he creates more problems for the players than needed, but I must admit that his resume speaks for it self. Yes, he have gotten rid of big name players and still won, but getting rid of Beckham is another beast. There may be better players than Beckham, but there is no bigger face in all of football and to be sold for chump change is inexcusable.
