Sporting Clube de Portugal travels to Santa Maria de... who cares to take on SC feirense.

SC feirense was founded in, noone cares, their club colors are, thats right noone cares..

this is all about SPORTING, and why we are in this moment practicing the most scintillating, electrifying football in Portugal, hell in all of Sports entertainment!

Sporting has to keep humble, play smart, and play to win because we have made so many enemies in our 100+ years of existence. No one likes us, but we dont care we are Sporting and in search of a 10th straigth win, which would equal paulo bento's run of 10 wins in a row with SCP

Domingos already set his record with 9 wins in a row, he once had 8 in a row with braga lets go for 10

Feirense at home already drew with Porto so Sporting will have to be ready for this team.

    Forca Sporting!

I'll have to look it up to confirm it, but I believe Feirense had a previous spell in the top division a few decades ago.

ps. not to be confused with SC Farense :)

Any match really, regardless of what many may think , the Portuguese league is as competitive as any league, and any team can throw another team's plans in the trash.

ahem! - this was not a very humble introductory post for this topic, I hope Sporting are more humble than this :)

It's not SC Feirense, it is CD Feirense (clube desportivo), founded in 1918 so they have a fairly long history, even if they've been only 3 times in the first league.

I thought so . I have some old raboçados cromos , not in the greatest shape, of Feirense players, but I wasn't sure if they were in the Primeira or segunda.

Feirense has been talking alot of garbage saying they want to end our winning streak, their president said he wants to win 10-0

not surprising, afterall Feirense is from minho not the most Sporting-friendly places and they are butthurt that we are playing better than benfica and porto and smashed another minho team gil vicente 6-1. U Mad?

Hopefully Sporting plays good and gets the 3 points, thats all that matters. even if we score offside goals or have the other team score own goals on purpose (i.e. a certain other blue and white team) it dont matter. of course Id rather see another comfortable win for SCP...

two important notes for Sporting going into this game

    1. Only two real Center backs were called up; Onyewo and Carrico. Polga and Rodriguez are injured, so we better not get any red cards to our CB or injury or well be in trouble

    2. Jeffren Suarez is back from injury

I'm expecting a Sporting invasion at Aveiro.

Actually their president is a fellow sportinguista. He said that but he obviously knows that it's almost impossible.

    0-2 FT

Van Wolfswinkel and schaars score against a team intent on fouling, time wasting, and playing anti football.

    FT

    Feirense 0-2 Sporting

A intense game, in the estadio municipal da aveiro that ended with a double victory: A victory for Sporting and a victory for football.

right from the opening whistle Feirense set out to play a brand of anti football. Time Wasting tactics, diving, thuggery, and systematic fouling were the modus operandi of the blue clad squad from the aveiro area.

first half ended 0-0 with Sporting created some chances but struggling to deal with Feirense' thuggery. the ref wasnt punishing feirense and was letting them do what they want, and missed a penalty call when Elias was hacked down in the box

before the second half it became obvious that we needed more width as the right side wasnt opening up space.

second half began, domingos moved matias to the centre took off elias and subbed in carillo and the shape of our team looked better

in a matter of minutes, Feirense' anti football finally shot itself in the foot. Capel was hacked down twice in a matter of minutes and feirense was shown the red card. from then on Sporting dominated possession and it seems like it was only a matter of time before the Sporting clube de Portugal saw a breakthough

that came in the 68th minute when Schaars was ruthlessly hacked down inside the area. the referee correctly awarded a spot kick which the new dutch matador : Ricky Van Wolfswinkel duly dispatched into the upper corner to the keepers right.

the thousands of Sportinguistas in attendance were already in festive spirits but they erupted into a state of mass euphoria. such is the dimension of our club that it seems that wherever we go in Portugal a green wave of enthusiasm follows us.

Sporting continued to bambozzle the opposition, carillo, jeffren, and matias in particular causing feirense players to tie their own legs up in knots with their display of skillfull dribbling.

the second goal finally came and man of the match Schaars hit a volley into the bottom corner. 0-2, Jeffren left the pitch with an injury and the game finished 10 on 10. indeed 10 was the number of the day, as Sporting claimed its 10th consecutive victory

in the end it was an important victory not only for Sporting, but for football. the side who actually attempted to play football and win the match ended up winning and deservedly so.

Tough victory but it was just. Great volley from Schaars, the guy has picked up his game after the first 3-4 weeks of the season.

Carrillo much more effective on the right, would like he, Jeffren, Capel to be able to switch flanks with ease to make it tougher on our opposition and not be so predictable.

Joao Pereira continues to be our catalyst, the guy is in great form right now. He, Mati, Carrillo, and Jeffren work the ball well on the right side and find openings.

Capel continues to be a thorn in our opponents' sides. Rinaudo hasn't out a foot wrong in awhile.

Backline solid. Insua was such an important pickup.

Glad to see Jeffren back, though I'm worried about this guy's proneness to injury. Any word on his status yet?

Nice streak by the fellas, 10 more would be nice! Haha.

Honestly, I'm kinda freaked out by Jeffren's injury. The dude was injury prone at Barca; seems like its continued at SCP. He has been out for the past 4 or 5 weeks, and then he gets hurt AGAIN. From what I've read, it's some type of myalgia. I'm not sure about this guy's chances, and it seems like he might just be another bust. Hope he doesn't end up another izmailov
