And here I was thinking the Straus article was gospel for all these years.....

JK explicitly cited non-footballing reasons for Benny's exclusion. Few other NT coaches do that sort of thing.

Why? Seems to have been pretty dead on balls accurate to me.

Howard backed up a number of the article's allegations.

Hope to get a glance at the bench to see if Benny is sitting next to anybody.

    Yup.

Funny how if you disagree with an article, it’s “allegations”. The ability to protect sources identity is key to journalism. A good reporter and a responsible publication vet sources and get multiple confirmations. That was a good story.

Unfortunately it was the last good one I’ve seen from him. He seemed to bend over backward to be nice after it

He had a personal problem with Donovan.

Klinsmann is just not a great coach, plain and simple.

If you're happy with what you saw tonight, cool.

I'm not. I saw a team/strategy that gets wrecked in the WC.

We AREN'T in the WC!!! We are in WCQ. You need to focus on where you are...not where you will be. I personally love Bruce's comment that he hasn't thought about Tuesday. His focus was on today. While I don't believe that he hasn't planned for Tuesday, his statement tells his team and the rest of us that the only thing that mattered was today. That is what matters,

Are you that guy that said Bruce was a better coach than Osorio?

Fans like you disappear when times are tough

I think Benny should have been in before Bedoya, and I hope he gets time Tuesday, but today was about points. I'm not writing off Fielhaber yet.

You are such a nutcase and your patronizing tone and comment says you have no idea what you are talking about. I haven't disappeared from the US team since watching them in 1994. I'm saying that those of you who saw Benny 'as the savior' of the US team need to rethink what they said. Weren't you the one who said: "Is not fair, Bruce is basically expecting Benny to save all these years of mediocre coaches and mediocre players." So...what exactly did Benny do recently to back up your statement??

He hasn’t been on the team so we don’t know how bad or good he could’ve been.

What we know is that we got embarrassed twice by Costa Rica

Well, what we do know is that he hasn't been a part of a team that has lost only 1 game of their last 17. So what mediocre coach is he saving exactly??

LOL. Seriously? There are plenty of world cup winning coaches who have done the same.

Bedoya was the proper sub in that situation. if we are chasing a goal, then Benny should be the choice. But locking up a romp? Nope. Not Benny's forte.

I guess we would have won 10:0. Benny on the team and nobody died from cancer? I just can't believe that.

At 4-0 that game is completely done. I'd rather have a guy that offers something going forward get some time rather than a guy that offers nothing to the program.

    But that isn't so.

    (1) we didn't need another goal, and (2) Bedoya's strength is more on the defensive end of the field now that he is older. He does add that as a late game sub, just like Dax did tonight.

That ain't nuthin". In this circumstance it was exactly what was needed.

Hope Benny gets a run at T&T and maybe keep Puli on the bench unless he is needed, since the refs and our team can't seem to protect him..

You mean the team that was out of the World Cup just yesterday? A team in the weakest fifa region?
