I've got your picture Of me and you You wrote "no te rindas" I never gave up I sit there staring and there's nothing else to do Oh it's in color Japanese wear blue United States WILL wear red And soft as clouds I often kiss you when there's no one else around I've got your picture, I've got your picture I'd like to protest by wearing blue I asked Don Garber to take your picture So I can look at you from Houston as well You've got me wearing red and feeling blue and turning red and feeling screwed I'm turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so I'm turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so My apologies to the Vapors. After all I'm no Bernie Taupin.
Besides - if this game was in Alabama, but we could get great numbers of Quake fans there for a protest, we 'd be stupid not to do it in Alabama. Frankly, since MLS operates under US Soccer's charter, I'm disappointed that US Soccer didn't try to help us out here. If they're disappointed that I wore a blue shirt to a friendly (laughable) they'll just have to console themselves with my forty-five dollars.
This isn't about what colors Japan wears or what they think. This is about showing people in this country that turned their backs on us that Earthquakes fans are not going to give up nor will we go away !!!! That WE support the team when those who should have ran out of town ...
The fact that there is so much disagreement over this shows that a Blue-Out protest won't be that effective. I'm wearing red and bringing anti-AEG signage. I think that's the way to go, but I certainly won't hold it against anyone who feels compelled to wear blue to support the Quakes.
Go NAKED!!!! That way you could not be mistaken for being Japanese or cheering for the opponent in a "friendly" match. Besides, what says "friendly" more than being naked? After being naked for 15 minutes, you'd be turning blue. Bill won't have any problems with that.
I think 'Cakes would support us as he understands the SJ Fans. However, I have a feeling the powers that be wouldn't allow the arm bands. I don't have a clue as to how to find out if the would.
Only the ladies. ----- Really, I'm going to say wear what you want to wear. It's supposed to be red for the US team but since the dynamics have changed since the team has left for Houston and that the game is on television, it's the one opportunity to seize where our plight can be shown there. The Blue-Out might be our one chance to protest peacefully. I know Japan wears blue but what are you going to do? So as long as I have a USA scarf/cap/jersey etc it's not a big deal. Cheers!
I guess it doesn't really matter what color shirt you're wearing. This is February in San Francisco, so you'll be wearing three sweaters and a parka anyway.
Hey, I have an idea. Why don't we keep this thread to discussion of what color to wear for the US-Japan game and not talk about the Quakes-Galaxy rivalry at all?
Here is an idea: I will be wearing BLUE...but I will have an USA's flagin my hand so I can wave it durant the game... I think I have about 50 or 60 of them...I will bring them to the game! GO QUAKES ! WE WILL BE BACK LA LUCHA CONTINUA !
Time for a new shirt... red, white, and blue of course. In the right color proportions, and with Quakes logo and USMNT logo on opposite sides, it would be obvious that we support both our local and national teams.
Ok...here we go...the game is in less than two weeks Now what's the plan for the rally? I'm working in a banner in Japanese and english that says BRING BACK OUR EARTHQUAKES NOW ! However I still not have purchase my tickets for the game yet! GO QUAKES! LA LUCHA CONTINUA!
Okay, here's the dilemma. I've got tickets in the Sams Army section, but I want to help support the Quakes' cause, too. Red or blue? And where's the BAQF gonna be? We really need that in the stadium somewhere...
