I feel like whatever cocktail regimen Mbartinelli is taking has a touch too many stimulants in it.

interesting. that's the second offside call that went up really slow (they had one in the 1st half with holding doing a sliding tackle). wonder if that's how it's generally called in other european league.

I become more pro-Arteta basically every week these days, but ******** me, his substitutions drive me crazy. Don't play Saka and Odegaard, man.

68' Tierney, Vieria, Marquinhos off for Zinchenko, Odegaard, Saka.

Marquinhos made more positive impression than Vieira today. Interesting.

it feels wasteful with us doing quite well against them.

i would have preferred zinchenko not play so he can continue to recover but i get that he has fewer options there and probably wanted to limit tierney's minutes. but saka and odegaard? feels wasteful.

Uh-oh! Xhaka down injured. OMG just what we need. More implosion to our central MF?

Edit: He's up and come right back in the game. Hmm. Still unsettling.

They did a minute of silence for the passing of the queen at halftime?!?!
Anyone know how long it takes to plan a funeral for a 70 year old monarch? For the FAs sake, I hope they can squeeze it into the International break

    I'm only half kidding.

maybe cramp? didn't see the usual stretchy stretch with cramps but lots of running on top of lots of minutes. i don't know how weather is over there.

    It'll probably be next weekend.

PL matches are likely to be canceled until after the international break.

On the subs, and bringing in more vital first teamers that makes total sense to me, given a few factors. 1) Arteta has shown over these few years in charge that he's not one to take chances in a competition like this, even with opening games against "lesser" opponents. 2) Our squad depth is such that on his bench he's basically got either first-teamers or reserves and nothing much in between. 3) these subs are for rotational/minutes reason. 4) We only have a 1-goal cushion... if it were a 4-goal lead, maybe just maybe we'd see one or two reserves.

I suppose a missed road trip to Brentford isn't the worst fixture in the world to have to reschedule.

Our wounded could use the rest

I just want to point out that this Zurich side has zero wins, 2 draws and 5 losses thru 7 matches in the Swiss league.

Clearly Arteta murdered the queen as a plot to ease fixture congestion until Partey is back. Being seen on the sidelines in Zurich is the perfect alibi.

Conspired with Todd Boehly so Chelsea could have time to integrate Potter.

The way this team creates space for Saka on the wing is a work of art.

It's a shame Aaron Ramsey is injured.
