Is Turner known for playing that way or is it just nerves? Honest question, I really don't know anything about him other than he's American.
I'm no Turner expert. But I feel like I've seen him being generally more aggressive, confident and better than what he's showed since joining Arsenal. I think he may be a bit inhibited and nervous at the magnitude of the stage he's on now.
i haven't seen him but all the descriptions i've seen has him much closer to leno than ramsdale: great shotstopper, stay at home keeper, not comfortable on the ball/distribution.
Are we doing that thing again? Where we go up by an early-ish goal but then fail to consolidate by scoring another? Can't see another comin before HT. Hope I'm wrong.
That's my take on him, anyway. He didn't start playing the sport until he was 14, so his ball skills are never going to be good.
Surprised Turner looked so bad on that penalty. He's normally good at them - now 10 for 22 saving them in his career. Keepers with that kind of save percentage rarely go the wrong way that early.
HT 1-1. So much for building a comfortable cushion so as to be able to rest some of our first-teamers. Absolute minimum expectation should be to get out of Zurich with 1 point. And no injuries. Anything beyond that is gravy I guess.
Just like we saw against ManU, you have to be efficient with your possession. It's about winning via the score, not simply having the ball. Side note: RIP Queen Elizabeth II.
It was Holding. But actually it was the post that saved the day. LOL that the UEFA producers showed only one highlight after HT and it was that particular cock-up between Gabriel and Turner. And they showed it 4X in a row... like torture. Now they randomly are showing the aftermath of our goal. God streaming productions are so awesome.
Looks like Eddie got the message from Mikel that he needs to take this game by the scruff and put us back in the lead.
