Announced on 4/30 around 5:00pm is FC Wichita will be joining the NPSL starting in 2015. Press conference was real nice with NPSL Commissioner Michael Hitchcock on hand.
FC Wichita has announced their first-ever coach: Larry Inlow. Coach Inlow was last seen on the "sidelines" during the 2013-2014 PASL season with the Wichita B52s. He has resigned from that post to takeover the expansion NPSL side. http://www.fcwichita.com/2014/09/larry-inlow-manager/
Hasn't been announced yet. A lot floating around. If I were to throw some guess, it'll be at a high school football/soccer/turf field for at least the first year. There's a chance it could be at the Stryker Soccer Complex (http://www.wichita.gov/Government/Departments/Park/Pages/StrykerSoccer.aspx) for a year too. Unfortunately, there's not the right "destination" for the match field yet. Supporters want alcohol sales. Everyone wants location. And I would imagine everyone would prefer grass. No perfect setup yet. Sorry, two bits of info since coach was announced: Open tryouts October 18-19 (http://www.fcwichita.com/2014/09/fc-wichita-announces-open-tryouts/) Assistant Coach named, Jamie Harding -- no real surprise here (http://www.fcwichita.com/2014/09/jamie-harding-signs/)
Another assistant, and former Wichita Wings player, Sammy Lane was announced today. http://www.fcwichita.com/2014/09/sammy-lane-joins-fcw/
Yet another assistant announced, Brent Hobson. Played at Friends University and most recently a Wichita B52s player. http://www.fcwichita.com/2014/09/brent-hobson-to-fcw/

I'll give a report (tomorrow) of the match tonight against Joplin. Then, hopefully I'll do the same come Sunday when they take on Liverpool. Pretty quiet in Wichita-town. Not much to say about the team/players recently. Just hyping and trying to sell tickets. I'm interested in the product on the field and the renovations that will be done to the Stryker Complex.
Have they had any other preseason games since the Roughnecks friendly to give you any indication of how they are looking?
FC Wichita had 2 friendlies, both against Newman University. One was cancelled and they lost the other 1-0. It was a pretty eclectic team that was playing in, and no real indication of how they'd look. 1-0 loss to Joplin on Friday and a 4-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday. Both were entertaining games, with pretty nice crowds at both. FC Wichita sits at second in their division right now at 1-1-0. Scrappy games for both, especially the Liverpool game. I'm not sure how many yellows were given and there was a red (second caution situation). Most of it went towards Liverpool who does not look good AT ALL. There's not a whole lot of attack from FC Wichita, honestly. In the Liverpool game, there were 3 penalties (2 for FCW and 1 for L'pool). I think against Joplin, FCW might've managed 5 shots with few on goal. For them to get better and have a better product on the field, the pitch HAS to be better. It's natural grass that is like a cabbage patch. Rough. For Friday and Sunday, rain made the surface even worse. I am interested in how the team continues to grow as they've only had 3-4 days of training with their whole team there.
I caught the last 20 minutes or so of the game against Joplin. Looks like they will be a great addition to the conference. I give FC Wichita credit for putting together a decent live stream on Youtube.
I probably would tried, unfortunately was on vacation for the trip. I've only missed one home game, maybe a second at the start of vacation. Could be an interesting last game. I don't see FCW losing though, not at home against Ft. Worth. Never know. It's one that brings a title.
