Replaces the thread I starter by mistake, against Nacional

Porto will be playing against some of his old veteran players like Folha, Drulovic, etc

Heh...kind of difficult to even think about this game yet as Porto/PSG is just moments away. But I think that if Porto can continue to improve and pull off a victory over PSG today, Penafiel doesn't stand a chance when they visit Porto.

Seriously. I can't believe he said in an interview that he thought he was the best central defender in the Superliga. Is he serious??? Come on Pepe, you're not even the best one on your team.

Pepe may be cocky and has shown to be shaky at times, but he will one day in the near future be one of the best CB's around. The talent and skill is undeniable and there is not one single team in the Superliga that would not take him even at this moment.

I'm really hoping Hugo Almeida sees some playing time tomorrow even if he has to come in late in the game. If any of the starting strikers stink out the 1st half, Almeida should replace one.

Porto wins 2-0. McCarthy continues to be on fire. Here's a nice summary from Marco of fcporto online.

A tale of two halves (FCP 2-0 Penafiel)
It wouldn't be a vintage Porto performance without the second half. This years team seems unable to build upon strong first half performances and has a nasty tendency to fade in the second half. The players seem to be missing that ability to move from 4th to 5th gear.

This is not to say that FC Porto did not deserve to win today, on the contrary they did. They were thoroughly dominating in the first half, missing a number of occasions to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. If there were shining stars for Porto today, it would have to be Bosingwa, Ricardo Costa and McCarthy. Bosingwa was thrust into Costinha's spot today and did not dissapoint. The U21 international cut out virtually every Penafiel attack, in fact he looked so good that if he would play for another Portuguese side he'd be dubbed the best trinco in Portugal. Costa looked every bit the centre-back we've dubbed him out to be and McCarthy, well he just continues to find space and score goals.

Porto plays Guimaraes (for the second time this season) on Wednesday in some Portuguese Cup action. The match is to be played in Guimaraes, the city where Porto broke their winless duck this season. Fernandez rested Costinha today and judging from his post-game interview he seems intent on resting some more players this coming Wednesday.

I've always rated Bosingwa quite high. I think Porto are in good hands with the young lad. Ricardo Costa is pretty solid too. As for Porto's forwards, something has to be done...Postiga has to be traded or Almeida has to be loaned out come the next transfer windown in January.

I've been praising Bosingwa for a while now. I expect him to only get better. He is a future NT player and I wouldn't be surprised if its as early as 2005. Costinha is getting old and Bosingwa will be in his prime for WC2006.
    Porto still undefeated...........

Diego with McCarthy with the highes't ratings for the game

Atento, espanou bem a pouca poeira que o ataque do Penafiel tentou levantar.

    Areias 7

    Carlos Alberto 3

Dois remates sem a direcção desejada.
