I think having a coach, especially one that is influential and vocal makes a difference.

Meanwhile Fletcher is indeed confirmed as missing with a hamstring injury he picked up in the first leg.

Press conference and training pics coming through now. I'd assume more will be added throughout the evening as the training session is happening as I type this.

Its been a cold day in Porto as well (Northern Portugal, figures), 15 C with cloudy periods. Tomorrow doesn't look like its going to be any better. A high og 14 C tomorrow with thunder showers predicted during the evening.

i feel quietly confident about this. i hope Anderson is in midfield and he can cope. well whoever we put there i hope they play like that first leg v Milan 2 years ago or Roma 2nd leg 2 years ago. iirc both were pretty high tempo performances from midfield

I think it was in Manchester United's best interest if they did not field Flectcher.

"Ferdinand and Vidic haven't completed a game together since the Reds triumphed in the last round by beating Internazionale 2-0 at Old Trafford. That was also the last game in which United kept a clean sheet."

Based on those training photos, Ferdinand looks fully fit. Now what do we do in midfield? Carrick/Scholes? Carrick/Giggs? Carrick/Giggs/Scholes? Does Anderson figure?

Got tickets to this. Despite supporting Benfica, should be exciting.

    Perfect. From left to right:

    When will you effin score?
Why exactly did you think you needed Berbatov?
Is Fergie invited to the pool party if you win in Portugal?

I know many would say Anderson does not deserve to start, and he doesnt on form, but the kid needs to play, and play in his attacking role. This is a big game, he will definately not go hiding, andhe has the srtength to battle with Fernando.

Anderson has played a lot in the CL this season. It wouldn't surprise me to see him figure, especially as Scholes just did 90 over the weekend.
