    bentley off, ljungberg on
    reyes off, bergkamp on
    senderos off, eboue on

i missed the first goal but the second freddie goal was made from a low cross pass from flamini on the right, with ljungberg controlling the ball under pressure and passing it into the bottom left hand corner.

at the moment we're pretty much killing them with chance after chance, it should really be 4-1 to us with pires and bergkamp failing to beat the GK one on one.

Arsenal first goal: ???? I missed it.

Arsenal 2nd goal: Flamini cuts ball across box from right, Freddie cintrols, and cooly slots in. :)

    Fulltime.

    Arsenal 2-1 Porto

Unless Ajax win by 6 goals next game, we've won the tournament.

What really sucked was the television feed GolTV was getting. Many times Arsenal would be bringing the ball into the final third and they would cut to an Ajax fan (yes they weren't playing yet) either talking, reading or sitting their board. It was horrible.

I have to give AW credit: Helb is a gem! What a great pick.
He is a great talent and I am looking forward to seeing him in the EPL and CL.

Hleb looks great...dear I say a Bulgarian version of Lord Dennis.
Freddie saved the day. The pass by Flamini to him on the 2nd goal was pure class.

Cygan had a few qualities plays on defense. Lehmann had 1 terrific save and then was average the rest of the match.

Just feels great to finally see the true Arsenal, that moves with fluidity and confidence as they deliver beautiful passes to one another.

And they get the Amsterdam Tourny Trophy...I know it really doesn't mean anything, but Arsenal have never done well at this preseason tourny.

I watched it off some asian stream and the screen was about 4x4 with asian commentary. Not a bad game overall. I'll wait to pick up a torrent of it tonight and watch the full screen version. To get a better feel of the overall play.

He actually reminds me a little of Cruyff  , for the same reason and the way he cuts back to change direction. Thanks for the pbp, fellas. I was hoping to see a match thread on the new arsenal.com forum, but I guess they want people to sign up for the service.

Porto goal: Jorginho low cross from right outside of the right hand side of the box, McCarthy misses it with Cygan following as Lisando puts the ball in at the six with Senderos and Lauren on his heels.

    2nd Half:

    Ljungberg comes in for Bentley.

Arsenal goal: 46th minute Henry to Hleb to Ljungberg, across the box, left to right, on the right side of the box with Ljungberg just hitting it one time with the inside of his right foot to place it in the bottom left hand corner as he goes across Baia's net. It's ALL ABOUT PLACEMENT! Lol.

Arsenal goal: 53rd minute Corner for Arsenal, cleared by Porto, as everyone pushes up Henry flicks the ball towards the right side of the field as Flamini charges it down. It seems Flamini will take the ball 1 on 1 but the Porto players push him towards the right side of the box, Flamini briefly looks up and sees Ljungberg at the penalty spot, crosses it across the floor. The Porto defenders look as the ball goes across the box, Ljungberg takes a touch with the inside of his left foot as he shoots with the inside of his left foot just beyond the middle part of the six into the left hand corner of the net again with the ball splitting Baia's flaging arms and a Porto defender sliding.

I could be wrong on which players assisted Ljungberg on the first goal.

It was either Henry or the Porto defender who made the pass, Looked to me the latter. Thank youuuu Porto :)
