Does anyone know if there is an FC Porto club in Newark. I can't seem to find an address anywhere. I ask becuase a) I'd like to watch Porto matches there and b) supposedly they sell Francesinhas and other Porto specialities.
they use to have a Porto club in the early 80's but they close shop, I don't know if they starter another
They just one up on Fleming Avenue down by East Ferry. It's on a corner but not sure teh crossing Street
the old Porto club use to be on Fleming Ave, they moved to Monroe st, by Portuguese Pavillion but its nice to know they back in business
so they back, you better stay away from the Fernandes night life, those old latin ladies can eat you up
There is a Super Dragoes branch here in T-O you know. You can become a card carrying member for $20 like my brother.
I don't know how many members there are but they're not a very rowdy bunch bacause when i went down to t. dot to watch the Porto vs Liverpool game they were pretty quiete! I've also giving it some though about becoming a member!
I was there too but not sitting with the Dragoes. me, my Borther and My friend sang all kinds Porto songs and chants (so what if I'm a Braga fan) in the middle of a bunch of quiet Porto fans. Halph the time we were askin them if they were LFC fans in disguise to which we sang LFC, LFC, LFC LFC LFC FILHOS DA PO... you get the picture. I got to pat and word with Vitor Baia at half time.
It's good to know that the Porto club still exists. I'm a bit confused, though - is it on Fleming across from the Fernandes Steak House, or is it on Monroe. Also, it's a bit off topic - but do you guys know of any other restaurants in Newark (or the greater NJ area) that serve Porto-style food?
