So, I assume that the team offically became FC Dallas now. Am I right? Or we need to wait little more? Any way, I think the site looks assume. But there is one thing they should fix. I kinda hate the fact that there are two simular picture on top of the other on the top left hand side. I mean the bagde of the FC Dallas is on top of the FC Dallas logo, and that kind of looks akward.
this morning. ============= DALLAS BURN OFFICALLY CHANGE IDENTITY TO FC DALLAS Team will also hold 10 a.m. 2004 “Wrap-up” Meeting Tomorrow at Blue Sky Dallas, Tex. – FC Dallas President and General Manager Greg Elliott announced today that the Dallas Burn will officially be known as FC Dallas beginning today, October 18, 2004. Along with the new name comes a new web address. The team’s new website will be at www.fcdallas.net. “FC Dallas will be an organization that is committed to being the sports and entertainment industry leader in North Texas,” said Elliott. “We look forward to beginning a new chapter in our Major League Soccer history, becoming an influencing force both on and off the soccer field. “Today is an exciting day for our franchise as we officially become FC Dallas.” FC Dallas brings a new identity, including a more traditional “badge” or “shield” look that is easy to read and more recognizable than the former logo. The new shield contains a mixture of new and old elements. With the name placed in a dominant position, the balance of the mark includes “Tex”, a Texas cattle that was prominent on the Shawnee Trail through the 1800’s. The new color combination includes a strong representation of Republic Red, Lonestar White, Bovine Blue as well as a hint of Shawnee Silver in the “96”. These are the exact base colors of the United States and Texas flags with the Shawnee Silver added for an accent. The “96” represents the year the franchise was established in Dallas. FC Dallas will move into a 117-acre facility in Frisco located at the intersection of Main Street and Dallas North Tollway in Frisco. The Frisco Soccer & Entertainment Center will feature a 21,193 seat soccer stadium and will accommodate Major League Soccer matches, major concerts, international soccer matches and High School football. Adjacent to the stadium will be 17 regulation size, tournament-grade soccer fields which will be utilized on a year-round basis. FC Dallas will hold their end of the season team meeting at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Blue Sky in the Colony. Media are encouraged to be there shortly after 10 a.m. and will have availability with the coaches and players immediately following the meeting.
