Ah sounds good. All except for the golf tournament. Ah shucks. Eh well, I'll be going to US/Mex in Columbus.
Sorry if this has been covered. This thread got long real quick, and I don't wanna search through 6 pages to find the answer.... Is it true there's no TV and no Shrader? No Shrader?!!
Unfortunately for us, we can't see the game, no TV Is there tv coverage in Dallas for the game? If so, then maybe we can at least get an MLS streaming video feed...
No Shrader on TV. KLIV is still doing a radiocast, according to the Quakes' site. If there was TV coverage in Dallas, I'd figure we'd be able to pick it up on Direct Kick. I get the impression it's not televised anywhere.
That's what I figured, but I figured I'd ask our Dallas "visitors"......the LA/Dallas game was not televised or streamed on mlsnet either....wonder how they decide which games are covered.....two matchups of #1 vs #2, and neither covered.
Generally, the Dallas Burn/FC Dallas haven't televised home games for the last several years. Hell, FCD isn't even televising a few of the road games this year.
Mullan's Sock is mounted on the wall in my house. It was not intended to be the prize in a California Cup style event, but rather it will go to the fans of whatever team Mullan plays for. So if Mullan gets traded, or if he gets cut and goes to an A-league team, or if he goes to Europe, I will be contacting the fans of whatever team he winds up on, and sending them the sock. Brian from Cal Custom put together an actual trophy for the California Cup a year or two ago, but since we haven't put together any rules for the competition, the trophy was not sent to the LA fans last year when they beat us in the season series. At least as far as I know. I don't know where that trophy is now, I'm guessing that either Brian from Cal Custom still has it, or someone from Club Quake has it.
Bummer - so it's all your guys fault that there's no tv feed for us! So let's see, can one of you guys who are going to the game take along your laptop, wireless connectivity, a video camera and send us the feed from the Cotton Bowl
...or, if he wants to try to kick the Burn (I mean... Dallas), then he could try this innovative 3-4-3: -Russell--Cerritos--Moreno Dombro--O'Ro--Clark--Mullan ----E'Ro--Califf--Cochrane --------PatOnSTad Bold= players with a bit of a rough, dirty, reckless-abandon streak Italics= players with all hustle, tenacity, and slightly hard edge
Uh, yeah. Our front office foolishly places a higher priority on televising games being played hundred and thousands of miles away instead of ones that we could actually attend. Sorry. Don't worry. There'll be one camera there, pointed at the side of the stadium where there are literally no tickets sold, and MLS Wrap will have "exclusive" highlights, complete with the moron announcer talking about how there are "plenty of tickets available at the Cotton Bowl."
Yeah, that makes sense. But getting local games televised also just drums up more interest in the game. Don't know why the Quakes aren't doing any televising....or how that actually gets decided. Just a bummer, this is by far the most interesting matchup Saturday, and no tv!
As posted a bit earlier in this thread, Russell is not travelling with the team, so I'm pretty sure ( ) he won't be playing. Neither is Dombrowski. Looks like it's going to be: Onstad Gray - Califf - Robinson - Barrett Mullan - Clark - O'Rourke - Chung Cerritos - Moreno With Nash, possibly Wondolowski or Hart as subs to bring in some additional energy and scoring potential.
Done - Drum'r Boy, I think this is the second time in two days I've covered you with rep I guess I need to stop hanging out on the same boards you hang out on....or it might have been some other Dallas fan....you all look alike to me Although I also enjoyed the post alliu!
losgatosfan - Pretty sure it was Drum'r you covered. Stop it, though. You're freaking me out. I haven't been participating in the analysis much this season (referring to posts earlier in this thread pointing out that FCD fans don't seem too focused on our own match thread for this game) because there are only three players that I'm sure will be playing in their standard position: Garlick, Goodsen, and Simo. Too many injuries and a few callups. Who am I kidding - I'm too giddy to do more than gibber with glee.
It's Fox Sports Bay Area that's letting us down with no TV for this match. I wish HDnet would have at least picked it up instead of double duty for DCU.
The key to this game, IMO, is gonna be shutting down ROB without having to tie up three guys to do it. I think Barrett will be tracking back a lot more than he has been and we will be challenged to make anything happen from the left wing, and with DeRo out it'll be hard to move up the middle too. The game may just come down to Mullan, if he has a stellar performance and can take on a few defenders we might get some opportunities; I'll be happy if we get a point. Now Quakes, go and prove me wrong and bring home all three.
Yep - started with the Chivas road game, he didn't travel for that one. But then he got time against LA when Davis got hurt, and he played really well in the Reserve Game. So I really thought he'd get a chance this month with others gone. Don't know if you saw, but in DK's conversation posted today on the Quakes site, it said: If you believe his answer, he's going to spread time around, among Hart, O'Rourke, Russell, and Wondolowski. But you'd think it will depend on how things go; if one or two guys step up and play well, the others may not get much time.
FC has a 5 game home winning streak. San Jose has played 294 consecutive minutes without giving up a goal. What happens when an irresistable force meets an immovable object? Why, the Quakes win, of course.
