Ronnie was the most highly selected of all the starters by the GM/Coaches......that's got to feel good for him.

ROB got the most votes from coaches/GM's - if I'm reading this right, his score of 17.68 in that category means that just over 70% of all coaches and GM's voted for him.

Does anyone know (including the league) when the subs will be announced for the match?

Somebody doesn't like reading entire articles......its mentioned in the linked story....

FC Dallas head coach Colin Clarke earned the honor of coaching the MLS side by virtue of leading his team to the highest point total in the League through Week 14. On Thursday, July 14, Clarke will select the five reserves who will join two other Commissioner's selections to comprise the 18-man MLS roster.

Methinks he will be selected by Clarke as a substitute.

I know it's bad form to say something nice about a Chicago player on the Hoops board, but if Jaqua is healthy I think he may have earned a sub spot. it's nice to see someone like him having the makings of a breakout year. sorry, neg-rep me if you must...

Anyone plan on making a trip to Columbus for the game?

Ronnie, Vanney, EJ, Ruiz, and Clarke are, I imagine. Probably Haynes, Morrow, and the rest, [jh]as well[/jh].

Sorry, it just feels good to say it again.

What is interesting is which direction Clarke goes with this.

Does he bring in the best five? Noonan, Ralston, Simo, Califf(?) and Cannon? Leaving Chicago, CDC, Columbus and DC out in the cold? Or does he spread things around? Jacqua, Davis (that would be cool, imo, and as the assist leader, maybe he has earned it), Olsen, Hejduk, Cannon?

There is no mathematical way he can get all 12 teams on there (is that his job?) but he can get close.

What is interesting to me as a Dallas fan/Chicago hater - they could very well not have a representative on the team at all. :D

A source close to the team told me tonight (heh, that's fun to say :)) that EJ is targeted at this time to play against RSL on 7/23. So right now it appears that he should be good to go for the All Stars too.

OK well I don't normally post stuff that is not verifiable truth, but in this case I'm reporting something someone else said and I would trust that Buzz's sources are closer so I'd say to believe that instead.

Well I may be a bit knee jerk reaction here.

But Eddie is out now, and the next two after NE are on turf.
With this kind of injury I am just not optimistic he will be healthy.
CC was hinting we may not see EJ till PHP opener (or USOC IN CBUS)

If he does play, and I don't think he will. I believe it will be a short wave.
It would stun me to see him play hard and long in this game when he has missed several months.

I'd forgotten about the turf issue. A good point. EJ may be ready to play come 7-30, but may not have played before then because of the turf stuff. Would CC play him in the ASG if he hasn't played him in the other games?

I just noticed something - the coaches and GMs voted Greg Vanney as one of the best (if not the best... we don't know all the scores) defender. Wow.

Are they seeing something I'm not?

I think he's solid, sure he F's up sometimes but who doesn't? He doesn't stand out and thats a good quality in a defender

Someone is leading the back 4 and I doubt it is Gbandi, Goodson, or Rhine all of whom are relatively inexperienced.

Yeah, but is our defense that good because we play so great as a team and have a midfield no one can match?

Hey, I'm not complaining, and as a unit the team is great. No doubt.
