Looks to be a good pick. Anthony is a young (17yrs old) left footed talent that should get into the mix in a couple years for the squad. Member of the current U20 national team.

FC Dallas also traded Greg Vanney to Colorado for a 2nd round picks today and a 2nd rounder next year.

Abdus Ibrahim has a tremendous upside. He is only 15 and a member of the US 17s. Made it to the last day of the Combine and had a huge impact in the match. Could be a monster pick in a few years if he continues to develop. It will be fun to follow his growth.

I am happy that our draft picks have some size to them. I have a feeling that Morrow wants to beat some beats with skill and bully them just a bit in the process.

I'm really disappointed (and surprised) we passed on Needham in favor of what looks to be a long-term conversion project.

Needham is not as polished as he is perceived. I have been watching him play since he was 9 years old. We are set in defense and he is a tad slow, but SMU was able to hide it somewhat. There is a reason why he has not been picked up as of yet. But don't be surprised if FC Dallas gets him with their next pick.

So how does it work with Ibrahim. Does his entire family move here? Do FCD find a family to take him in? Does he go to high school during the day? Home (PHP) schooling?

agreed grumpdogg with your thoughts on Needham. He is a tweener guy at the next level. Might not be able to get it done at center back and even more likely to not get it done at defensive mid. Wont be dominant at either. Dont get me wrong Needham was wonderful at SMU and is a high level talent. Many just question his impact at the next level. I think that is why you have seen him fall in the draft.

They'll be no school for him. He'll most likely get his GED like most of the other teenagers that joined the MLS. As far as where he will stay, that's a decision for him and his family, but I'm sure Dallas will accomodate him the best they can. I remember Bobby Convey rented a room from Kevin Payne when he first came to DC.

Yeah, I wish him well as he's a Fort Worth guy like myself, but I just don't think he will show well in MLS. I think his lack of speed will be his Achilles heal. I mean I can only imagine him trying to chase down JC out in Salk Lake on that turf. He wouldn't stand a chance.

Not a bad pickup at 28th overall. Definitely some potential there and a local kid to boot.

Looks like Needham went to DC United at 32.

Possibly a good spot for him, but going there I think he may be headed for a lot of reserve action.

We have chosen a lot of forwards... per haps a confirmation that we won't be picking up the mina contract.

Well I think a couple of these picks are being selected for reserve spots for at least the next year.

Dallas traded away their last pick for a 4th Round pick next year. Their draft day is done.

Yes, but if Abe is going to be number 3, you carry 5 forwards, and two of those are essentially reserve spots. I am going to take a guess and say that Oduro will be the right midfielder behind Nunez, I don't think he will be in the forward mix.

In his combine report, Buzz speculated that Daniels would be converted to a defender - that's where he played during the last two days of the combine. Considering that we lost some depth at center back with the vanney trade, and now have a glut of forwards, I'm pretty confident that's what Morrow's plan is for him.
