Where would you like to see the home tie of the FC Champions Cup played?

At Spartan..a sort of "pre-season" home opener?

Or at another "neutral" site in the Bay Area, saving the home opener for the 4/19 doubleheader?

San Francisco. I'm really lazy and want to see it at Negoesco. Would anyone seriously consider Kezar? I'm just tossing that out there. I haven't been out there in a while and am curious about the condition of the pitch.

Kezar, its the closest to my house. But I wouldn't be shocked if it were somewhere in Santa Rosa, Modesto, or Salinas, those places are part of California aren't they?

Spartan. That's their official stadium. Why have it elsewhere? Seriously!

And I also said that cuz I'm hoping Spartacus will be the announcer if we have the game at Spartan. The guy yesterday was horrible.

Can you imagine Spartacus on a REAL sound system? He's the only thing that actually sounds good on the M*A*S*H unit sound system at Spartan. :D

san francisco would be nice. i liked the game at usf. kezar would be cool too but usf has a better field and you're closer to the action.

I've worked on the system at "The Net"...sitting in Roy Steele's chair is something else.

For the uninitiated, Roy Steele has done PA for the A's since they arrived in 1968.

Roy's a big soccer backer, too. During WC'94 he got so into the highlight packages they showed on the JumboTron they started calling him "Roymario".

yeah, they don't sell beer at usf, but you got a couple of bars and liquor stores within walking distance and i don't remember them frisking people on the way in. so, just get drunk before and/or sneak stuff in. its probably cheaper that way too.

Whatever, you can sneak in, I take a flask of Borghetti's Caffe Sport, for that Serie A feel.

Alright, we are not all optimistic about the upcoming Champions Cup match. But don't you think that we should, as fans, predict a home win instead of just a tie?

What about the prices? Like another poster said, they won't frisk. If you're discreet, you're fine. My dad and I brought food a lot to USF games. It's no big deal.

Last time I played "The Net" was the 1998 Gold Cup. The AV Supervisor, Troy Smith, always greets me there with, "Hi, nice to see you, no, Roy's not dead yet."

I agree with spejic. Don't talk of draws. Go for a home win. The game must be at Spartan, that's the home turf.

I was there....wouldn't quite remember the PA since I made a go of it at a tailgate....All I remember was a Porterhouse steak, rice krispie treats and lots and lots of beer. :(
