Interesting. We've heard so much how Magath is devoted to a 4-4-2 (or close derivatives i.e. 4-5-1), but in the first (semi) competitive match he plays a 3-5-2 (Kahn - Görlitz, T. Linke, Demichelis - Salihamidzic, Frings, Ballack, Deisler, Zé Roberto - Makaay, Santa Cruz), which I'd imagine is the best way to keep Frings, Ballack, and Deisler on the field together.

Nice early returns. At the fifth minute Ze Roberto scores with Santa Cruz getting the assist.

    Two quick goals in succession.

Ballack steals the ball and scores in the 65th minute and two minutes later Frings scores. Hopefully we'll see this sequence many times this year.

3-0 Bayern with 15 minutes to play.
