Looking at European football and a bit of World Football it is astounding to see just how many young players, not even just youngsters but truly some barely out of their teenage years, others still to be more than just that teenagers lighting the world on fire.

    BOJINOV, Valeri...Bulgaria...Lecce...Forward
    CHIELLINI, Giorgio...Italy...Fiorentina...Defender
    DOWNING, Stewart...England...Middlesbrough...Midfielder
    FABREGAS, Francesc...Spain...Arsenal...Midfielder
    INIESTA, Andreas...Spain...Barcelona...Midfielder
    KOMPANY, Vincent...Belgium...Anderlecht...Defender
    MARTINS, Obafemi...Nigeria...Inter Milan...Forward
    ROBBEN, Arjen...Netherlands...Chelsea...Midfielder
    RONALDO, Cristiano...Portugal...Manchester United...Midfielder
    ROONEY, Wayne...England...Manchester United...Forward
    SCHWEINSTEIGER, Bastian...Germany...Bayern Munich...Midfielder
    SNEIJDER, Wesley...Netherlands...Ajax...Midfielder
    TEVEZ, Carlos...Argentina...Boca Juniors...Forward
    TORRES, Fernando...Spain...Atletico Madrid...Forward

These are just a few that came to mind.
REMEMBER it's not who you think is the best, but rather who is your favourite young player.

(Me personally i will be going for Giorgio Chiellini because he is a wonderful uncompromising Italian defender whichs bodes well for the national team i support and also co-owned by JUVE so even better. I see him as the person who can be asked to fill the void Gianluca Zambrotta will leave when he retires not anytime soon but you know!)

What about Bayern's 20 year old Peruvian José Paolo Guerrero. He has scored 4 goals in not even 2 full games worth of playing time.

Vincent Kompany in an article i read today said he wants to stay in Anderlecht at least till the summer. He has to accrding to him, finish his studies in Belgium (mature move?)

He has been linked with a few of Europe's biggest clubs mainly Inter Milan and Chelsea!

i think a look would have to be placed at the fc porto team. they havent been as consistant as last 2 years but they have incredible young talent.
Carlos alberto, ricardo quaresma and especially Diego have to be on this list. skill wise they are among any of previous nominee's. diego and cristiano ronaldo i would vote for. adres d'alessandro has also been forgotten and also kaka!

Hmm seems my idea for a poll was already done by magazines.

Anyways let's see what BigSoccer's memebers have to say! Thus far Wayne Rooney isn't top of the pile here, not even really close!

    should he be?
rooney is lucky he is english and media is all over him because he is better then pele(yah right!!). i dont know what's fergie's big idea abotu periodically playing cristiano ronaldo. fergie thinks he is protecting him and the idea abotu fergie developing young talent has finally got to his head. don't get me wrong rooney is amazing and the best english stricker in the game but their are better young talents out there.

C.ronaldo, robben, diego and then maybe rooney!!!

I voted for Andreas Iniesta, he exudes pure class in midfield and is Xavi Hernandes perfect foil and natural successor in FC Barcelona's rank. His senior breakthrough had limited the chances of other Barcelona's academy apprentices such as Francesc Fabregas, enabling Arsenal to steal him before Barcelona even considers rewarding him a senior contract.

he has a tendecy to get lost in a game he has a good shot but he hangs around to much just waiting for that goal and that to me is alittle egotistical.
kaka, ronaldo, diego and vaz te has to be some of my favorites

Fvck me - have you ever actually seen Rooney play? Goal-hanger is a term that could only be applied by the most deranged of lunatics (that's you by the way)

Kaka is too old. He's 22. I think D'Alessandro is also too old.

Kompany will be a future star. He plays in central defence now, but I think he is at his best when playing in midfield. He played there a couple of times with Belgium and Anderlecht, and that gave them some attacking impulses. He has great skills, is fast, is a good tackler, heads well, ... The only thing that can be improved is his positioning. And his absent-mindness off the pitch:) Sometimes he's late for training, he forgets his shoes, his tie, ... :D

It's indeed a mature move to first finish his studies. He doesn't have his head in the clouds, he's very down-to-earth and mature. And I hope he will be a Chelsea-player one day.

I'd be going with fernando torres or andres iniesta.

torres is very quick and has exceptional finishing abilities

iniesta has a very good touch, an eye for goal and he;s a very good playmaker
