Speaking of Neil Finn, he did a credible job doing "There is a light that never goes out" live with Marr on guitar (pretty rare) on the "Seven Worlds Collide" album.

Not as good as Morrissey of course, but a good cover. To start off the song he goes "Is anyone depressed? Okay...." and then they start playing.

He's no Chris Issak up there (with the punchlines), but kind of funny.

When I saw Ben Lee open up for Fountains of Wayne, he covered Shoplifters of the World Unite. It was neat-o.

I remember Johnny Rogan said in it that "Strangeways Here We Come" was the first truly depressing album by them. I agree.

That Coversproject site is incredible - thanks for linking to it. Just putting in bands to see what strange things come out is worth a thread in itself - maybe I'll start one tomorrow.

Without that site, I would have never gotten to hear Nick Cave's amazingly maudlin and inappropriate yet hypnotizing cover of "Disco 2000". Awesome.

    Big mouth strikes again

Makes me laugh, but I really like the guitar in it.

I'm just disturbed at the fact that it lists 24 versions of Surrender by Cheap Trick.

How underrated is the "Strangways" album?

    Moz Solo...

    A Swallow On My Neck
    Suedehead
    Now My Heart Is Full
    Driving Your Girlfriend Home
    Dagenham Dave
    Mexico
    Irish Blood, English Heart

Had to add my two cents...

AFA Strangeways being underrated, I agree on all acounts...I think it's their strongest album.

Add Speedway to my Moz solo...I just listened to Vauxhall and I about 20 times, and I forgot how great that song is.
all of the rumors, keeping me grounded
I never said, I never said
    that they were complely unfounded...

"I Know It's Over," the best song by anyone ever. It's a cheery little number . . .
