What is everyone's favorite goal celebration? My personal favorite is Eric Cantona's it was just so extremely badass looking, I thought it was awesome, I also like the silencing the crowd, Klinnsman's full out dive, but the emotional one and most passionate favorite of mine has got to be "The Tardelli cry".
Simple celebration, but I like Luca Toni's style... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUlL3gpBq_A&feature=related
Roger Milla's corner flag dance. As far as women are concerned, I'll take Brandi Chastain's shirt removal celebration.
C/S...he does that sh*t for like a minute too,....way too long... I also hate when someone always tries to damn near grab the goal-scorer down to the ground, and the ones where there has to be the gay one laying on the dudes ass. (ex. veloso)
I used to love watching Adebayor & Henry do their little dance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL5ukFVJ61g Nani's backflips are nice and Pato's heart thing is O.K. too. I don't mind Robinho's thumb suck, but the worst one ever is Tevez and the pacifier, whoever started the rocking the baby thing desevers a swift kick in the ass too.
The Henry-Adebayor one is pretty funny and memorable imo. I think Toni's ear/hand thing is kind of weird. The stupid cockroach one is embarrasing to watch.
That was Bebeto at the 94 World Cup, I think. It was pretty cool at the beginning too. I can't recall who it was, but there's a break dance celebration that ends up with a pose that's pretty badass.
The first player I ever saw doing the thumb-sucking was Fernando Torres when he was still in Spain. Not sure who was the originator, but Robinho definitely wasn't the first one. Definitely annoying that he uses it all the time because the meaning behind it is to celebrate a new born baby. Some players just copy it and keep using it ... Same thing for the Bebeto craddle rocking. It was actually an awesome celebration with a great meaning behind it. Worse of all IMO is the C. Ronaldo/Henry nod that pretty much says "Yes, I know I am a bad-ass, worship me !". My favorite has always been Pele's jump and punch in the air. I also like some of the knee slide's.
I definitely love the funny ones, such as the "torro", when the person who provided the ball takes his jersey off and the goal scorer gives himself horns and torros. Or the hilarious taking the jersey off, lying it flat, and humping your name my favorite right now has to go to the knighting of the player. The goal scorer does the classic knee slide to the corner flag, a team mate pulls the flag out of the pitch, and taps each shoulder knighting the goal scorer.
I don't like it. It reminds me too much of the cockroach one (excepts standing up). By the way, I hate RC's smile in the first pic (he looks gay).
i think bobby pires started it, in the EPL, when he lobbed schmeichel in 2002. of course, i have to love his trademark finger wave.
Actually the dance comes from a comedy program in Brazil where they try to get famous people to perform this dance. So it's funny if you know the background.
