I'll stick with Gillette Stadium, where the Revs kicked the Galaxy's phony, imitator butts. :p

I hope you all remembered to face Victoria Street this AM after you woke up and gave thanks to Saint Phil.

Yea, I thought the above-referenced Sigi comment was overdoing it a bit myself.

But I can forgive him for getting too caught up in the spirit of the historic event.

Very true. And there are many true soccer fans who don't have the cash to make a cross country trek like that.
If they live in Carson then there is no excuse and I fully agree with him. :)

Victoria Street? Are you really sure you wanna stick with that?

I mean, the Gals fans can get away with it now 'cause HDC is the flavor of the week, but it sounds pretentious and effeminate...why don't you just call the stadium 'Percy'?

As for me, when the Nats are using it, I'm going with the Tool Shed.

We've been using it for about 18 months (at least). It's no flavor of the week.

Long before there was ever a ground-breaking in Carson, there was a lot of stadium discussion on the G's mailing list, which was very active before BigSoccer sort of superceded it. We got tired of referring to the place as "the Galaxy's new stadium" and needed a short handle. I am pretty sure that the first time I saw "Victoria Street" in print, it was KyleDane who used that as a nickname. I think Kyle gets full credit (or blame) depending on your point of view. I think, Eric, its been better than two years that the name was used regularly by LAG fans

As to the guy who thinks it sounds "fruity" - well that's a pretty juvenile comment and I am not sure how to address it rationally. The stadium IS on Victoria Street - maybe he should contact the City Council in Carson, CA., and complain that they have a "fruity" sounding street. After they laugh him out of the room, he may want to rethink that starategy.

Well except for those silly games that really don't mean much like the MLS Championship. Really, why would it matter if the Revs can't beat LA in game like that at Gillette? :)

Anyway, does anyone have a good profile shot of Sigi? I'd love to send the photo to him with a gift certificate for a stomach stapling and say "Hope this helps you out. Love, Big Skinny Phony".

I think Freddy Adu touched that ball. They always look like that after he touches them.

Actually, I didn't spend much time on the ball after I took 50 pound off Sigi in Photoshop. :)

Last time I looked I wasn't named Puma.
Actually I did two pix. One where he is normally fat with no ball and then one (the one you see) where the ball is on the ground and he is thinner thus explaning the belly.

Actually, the HDC has their address listed on Avalon Blvd. so calling it Victoria Street is incorrect, but how were LA fans supposed to know months before they broke ground? As for Sigi making that comment, it is quite arrogant & in hindsight he probably would want to take that back.
