I know I'm excited for this movie after seeing this interview with the screenwriter: http://tinyurl.com/3gb78vu
That was hilarious. I will be heading to the theaters tomorrow night to check out the flick. Looking forward to see where this one falls into place with the other Fast and Furious movies, we know its before Tokyo Drift of course. Not to mention Vin Deisel and Dwayne Johnson finally together in one flick Why wouldn't you pay to see those two on the big screen? Its gonna be EPIC!
Last bastion of high-culture NPR praises the film for its progressive attitude. http://www.npr.org/2011/04/28/135812726/fast-furious-a-progressive-force I agree. The way to get people to change is to make the new position seem like it's an everyday and un-thought-about fact, not a painful medicine you have to take.
I'm listening to Bill Simmons and Adam Carolla basically narrate the whole movie. Sounds like the funnest time ever, no joke.
I have to say this is the best since the original. The cars and stuntwork are top notch, an old character makes a comeback and the Vin/Dwayne fight is a beat down. Also, make sure to stay halfway through the credits.
I view this movies as a guilty pleasure for those that like them. I like them because they are just fun to watch. I wasnt a big fan of Tokyo Drift because it had a huge plot hole that didnt make any sense. Dont several old characters make an appearance such as Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Vince from the original?
They shot a lot of the crazy scenes in the film practically next to my apartment. I can't forget since they shut down one of the busiest avenues in the city and the biggest and busiest bridge in the city for some of the car chases. The traffic was impossible for days. I had an emergency and had to call someone else to help me out because it took me about 2 hours to get to a spot around 6 miles away. I'm not a fan of the series but maybe I'll watch to see if it was worth it.
Gotta agree, this one has finally bumped Tokyo Drift down to 3rd best in the series, imo. I was surprised just how long it took for there to be a car race in the movie at least half way through the flick. Dang it. I always miss those things but went and saw it online. Was that lady who presented Hobbs with the file the same agent from 2Fast2Furious? Also me and my friends are having a arguement; when Hobbs and his crew arrives in Brazil he tells his crew to put on something is it "Thunderwear" or "funderwear"?
Best since the original. I nearly exploded when I saw Eva Mendes back after the credits..and that wasn't even the biggest suprise The soundtrack was superb as well. I was only pissed when the farmer hick from Tokyo Drift didn't come back as well with the asian, you see him at the end of TD about to race Vin Diesel, he should have made an appearence for the lulz. And I agree, the cocktease of the Brazilian night race in rio was a rip off, the atmosphere of the entire scene with the music, eye candy, and smack talk was building up to it....then nothing
This film takes place before Tokyo Drift so the hick isnt in play yet. If they make a 5th and 6th, I think they will take place around TD and maybe he comes back.
Until I saw the clip from the credits I had a hunch the next F&F would be a story focusing on Han & Gisele and would finally explain why Han ended up in Tokyo. I have no reason why I thought that other than a hunch.
Thanks, I didn't know the movies were out of sequence, it explains quite a bit. This movie seemed to have more humour than the others as well, it created a lot of laughs
