Faria was nothing in Brazil. Brazil nats don't even know he exists.

mls sent him to the Fire to make the Bradley move look palatable to their fans. But then the Fire had to drop Wolyniec who ends up replacing Faria. Bottom line, Faria was really traded for Wolyniec in a move that superficially makes it appear that the Metros paid for taking Bradley from the Fire.

I wish Faria good luck. he certainly tried very hard when he played for us. But he is just a marginal mls player.

That led your team in goals two years in a row.

People say the same about Razov also, even Chicago fans. It's kinda funny, because both of them will score bunches of goals this year.

What the hell are you talking about?

    Here we go again.

Fact Faria was the best goal scoring threat the Metros have ever had. And that includes the hack Savarese who played in the golden age of MLS.

No matter how many misses Faria had, he was still our best offensive player for the past two years. At least when he had a bad game he didn't get "injured" like Diallo did. Faria was a true Metro.

Last year, only Jolley, Howard and Faria play as if they actually wanted to play for the Metros. We cannot doubt that he had heart. He scored some goals while not being spectacular.

BTW, its FLAMENGO not FLAMENCO, a club that has one of the largest fanbases in the world should be spelled properly in a Chicago paper.

Wow Eric being a little hard on Gio no?

My feelings about both Gio and Faria are these were good players but not real starting players.

They were not starting material for a good MLS team ever. But you needed guys like this as the third striker when playing with two starting strikers in case of injuries, cards or duty with the National teams.

Fario had endless energy, and can get a lot of chances. His finishing percentage of those chances or before he had the chance was not as good as it should have been. Because he lost the ball or made some other kind of mistake at the end or near the end.

Gio scored alot on opponents mistakes.

They were both pretty good in the air, and they were both durable players.

I thought at the start of last year Faria would be used as left wing mid when Chung left the team. He played that position at times but would move more inside as the game went on. You can move inside as a wing mid from the flank, but you should not start inside as a wing mid. Faria would start inside many times, and he played too far from the ball as a wing mid at times. I believe a wing mid should be a short pass option on a change of possession for any team mate with the ball that is ball side or playing in the center of the field. Then he can move up from that position. Chung did that Faria did not always do that.

Then I thought Davis would fill that left flank roll, but he would make bad passes under pressure, and he could not cross from the byline. Due to lack of speed and quickness the kind of quickness like Chung had. So Davis would cross from farther away from the goal line when he was under less pressure.

So again both guys Gio and I like Gio, and Faria would not start for a good MLS team. In Farias case that should tell you how Chicago will do this year. If he starts for chicago they won't be around at the end.

"I was nervous until Nick Sakiewicz [the MetroStars' general manager] said there was no deal,'' Faria said. "He told me, since I had come up through their reserve team, that made me very special to them so I stayed calm.''

Oh, Faria you dumb, dumb, DUMB@ass!!! you believed a GM who is about as qualified to be in his job position as Mickey Mouse is to represent hallucinagenic drugs....
