Thanks Zar, that is cool to see both together. I started the Colorado Rapids division and was bumbed when a bigsoccer division opened up seperatly, but it is cool to see them both together, I've got first in the Colorado Rapids division and 3rd in the overall.

Everyone claim their team, I am Hungry Like the Woolf.

First, Lassiter is really good. Having won two EPL leagues by what I thought were comfortable margins, Lassiter's 18000 is stunning.

Next, speaking of comfortable margins, I have offered my congrats to Zar, having no hope of overcoming the gap in one week to win the "premiership" fantasy division. At least I sat in the #1 spot briefly a few weeks ago.

If the top 400 get a prize, we'll place quite a few overall.

I agree that 18000 is stunning. That team must have been making moves all season long. I didn't buy any trades and haven't made a move since July. I'm still winning my division. That might say a lot about my division. :)

Spot, put up the river rats standings from mfls.com. Note how team standings seem to swap. If you don't have time I'll do it for you.

Sharpshooters here. My mistake was letting team loyalty get the best of me. I didn't wize up until half way through the season.

    Re: Re: Fantasy

Lassiter bought a lot of trades.

Zar (Corp Rapids) and I (Vertigo) didn't buy any initially, but then both ended up suckering for the extra trades because we were very close thru the season. Over the past two weeks I changed out some players in an attempt to catch Corp, but most backfired and my breif sit on top a few weeks ago flopped. Sign. Same thing happened in last year's EPL-Zar tried some moves to catch up, and the Vertigo lead just increased. I think if this happens next year, I'll avoid changes like that, keep close, and hope for odd week.

CorpRapids & Lassiter also won by building up 4 to 5 million dollar reserves. Vertigo typically had 3.5 million, which in the end sealed my fate in second place.

I play a baseball one in Yahoo where each player is owned by only one person, and each week is a head-to-head match up, like the Ratz Cup (Vertigo runner up last year!..or was it 2001?). That might be fun in MLS, as you can only trade with another team, so it's less of the roster flipping week by week.

FC Nerja and EuroMalaga here. I must say I have enjoyed the SportingNews fantasy league a whole lot more than the MFLS league. I've been playing MFLS since they started it in '97 and I've never liked their scoring. They put way too much emphasis on +/- points, leaving good players and scorers on bad teams with low points. Really, you pick players on the team with the most wins, and you probably end up with the strongest team. The MLSnet/SportingNews league is better because it takes more stats into the equation (shots taken, etc...) without ridiculous penalties for being on the field when your team was scored against. +/- is for hockey.

Happy that I'm in the top 10 (#9 for all the Rapids groups) for the Sporting News league, but my team really hasn't done well in MFLS this year. Actually, it's just fun to have more options for fantasy leagues. I'm playing in one in the Spanish forum for La Liga too...

I just can't help being a homer though, and I tend to grab up Rapids players just because I know who they are better than other teams around the league.

    1. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to win a prize, MLS Fantasy Challenge (the "Game") entrants must be 18 years of age or older and a legal resident of the United States or Canada. Residents of Montana, Vermont, Louisiana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Arizona, Florida, Maryland, Colorado and the province of Quebec may play, but WILL NOT be eligible to win or receive any prizes.

Hopefully this won't impact those of you in line for a prize (top 400) but I thought I'd post it anyway. Last year, I had a top 10 overall finish and received an e-mail letting me know that I was not elgible to get my prize.

Serves me right for not reading the rules carefully. I'm ranked #217 overall right now with 6 active players on Sunday.

Probably won't be playing that again...

    Colorado???

    WHAT!

    No prize for Colorado Residents???

I realize that I am in line for a tee-shirt or poster at best (Vertigo has been in the mid 300's for a while), but it's the 'trophy' aspect of the trinket, not the lousey worth of the trinket.

    Sign.

Nice work Zar, and to Lassiter, whoever you are, how did you do it?
