Fantasy Olympics 2012-2013

Top Shelf is a force to be reckoned with. Skyrockets up the VSR standings and is now on the top of the heap of the Fanstasy Olympics.

This week has two story lines. The Double Gameweek bubble for the lucky Sunderland selection of Johnson and McClean and the fierce battle in VSR for promotion.

Blechs got the balance right with a Johnson captains badge, a midfield with Pienaar and Snodgrass in the doubles coupled with insults to a former manager, and solid performance of Huth, Tevez and Mignolet to keep the locomotive going.

Kopite Juniors joins the club of those who kept Bassong on the bench but gets honors for jumping two places to the lead of VSR. Again Adam Johnson wears the captain's badge, Sessegnon adds more and the likes of Rafael, Vermaelen, Jelavic and Mata underscore the depth of the selection.

FC Springfield wins Bronze but drops to 3rd in VSR. Captain Mata and a rejuvenated Torres bring in half the numbers.

FC Weymouth captained Kone but had Rooney in the double and the unbelievable existance of McClean on the squad with budget dynamos of Guzan, Fonte and Cameron to launch he attack into promotion to VSR.

This week's task was rather easy. Just look for the geniuses. You know those who have a score 20 points or more higher than the rest of us. I thought we would first talke about a guy with 17 points going into Monday but that will be later...

First we have the comeback kid, Hal, 87 points, skyrockets up 5 places to the top of VSR. Hal is ready for the chatty bunch at Small Rocks. Hal has 28 point lead on 4th place so will have to return to the Brain Trust again this weekend. The Brain Trust is that little voice that tells you to Captain Cazorla and not drop him for Fellaini two weeks ago in your open team.

Silver goes to FC St. Pauli, another smart one, with Pilkington Captained. Who Captains Pilkington you may ask... wel someone who has Podolski and you never know what he will do. Awsome numbers also come fro Vertonghen and FC. is on a roll.

ChrisSuttonsSlippers deep at 7th place in VSR has looked to have readied the hunting dogs to go into the forest of VSR. Another Vertonghen 15 point beauty at the back. Whoops for having Southampton and Chelsea players stuck on the bench and no shows for Rangel and Kompany. However, makes up by captaining Taraabt and have Benteke on board as well. Neither looking like draft picks so good managing.

Oh yes and barely missing a medal but not without mention, BiggerBoat captains Cazorla as he puts his feet up on the deck, puts the yacht on autopilot and is happy to have poured a glass of the good stuff to enjoy a weeks cruising around the bay to gameweek 18.

After one week where Cazorla was the magic ingredient, now it goes to Hazard.

Back after a visit in Gameweek 1, is the team with the hardest to spell team name. Ryan, took a Hazard captain and combined with Ivanovic and Skrtel in the back line, Arteta in the middle and Suarez on top to rack up massive numbers. 92 in all. That gives a new leader to VSR.

AC TIG is leading Dust and had another Hazard captain and double digits in the backfield. This time Cahill and Evra. Annoying Snodgrass with 10 in midfield but not much doing at forward so it is Silver.

Pittsadelphia captained Van Persie for only 8 points. But had the other "annoying one" Pienaar kept since drafting him along with Cahill, Luiz and even Krul all in double digits. Only 40 points from the lead in the league, but in VSR that is 6th place. SuttonsSlippers and Thiku have quite a hike ahead for the second half.

ChrisSuttonsSlippers gets another golden weekend. Has the brilliance to bring in Hernandez and to captain him. Aguero and Benteke score double digits along with Ramirez. But it is a tough road in VSR. 50 points separate 1st from 5th place and Fraser needs 100 points to get into that game. However,a 56 point differential on Kopite Juniors was accomplished this weekend.

Also, on the medal stand is Vegas Virgins, who brought in Hernandez a week before and also with Benteke. Had Gerrard as captain for a good 20 and brought in O'Brien for 15 points before the double gameweek. Like ChrisSuttonsSlippers, Vegas is in the hunt to survive relegation. Well this was the weekend. After 12 weeks in last place and 8 weeks in 7th place since the start of the season Vegas has jumped to 5th place, dumping last year's VSR and All Rocks winner, FC St. Pauli into relegation territory and puting Glorydaze on notice. A silver medal to slide down the bar while the managers discuss the transfer window is always fun.

Bronze goes to Tyrant FC. With a Gold last weekend this is another one mounting an attack to get out of the bottom of the table in their division. Closing in on Central Park Rangers, Thezaruzz is still in contention for the 2nd promotion spot as AC TIG keeps a solid lead and 41 points is all that separates 2nd from 6th place.

Who doesn't like a double Gameweek? Lobo must have really enjoyed watching Southampton come from behind to draw against his favorite team. Anything for a medal, right? Lobo finds his way for the first time to a medal in the Fantasy Olympics. Captain Mata, Terry and Lampard were in force for Chelsea and Lambert and Puncheon for Southampton. All with doubles except that Hot Head Terry.

Silver and Bronze go to two teams with Hazard as Captain. AC TIG gets silver and will obviously enjoy a Cazorla and Girourd combo for the upcoming gameweek. Luckily BiggerBoat has Cazorla as well or the lead could be in real jeopardy. AC TIG had Lambert as well but unfortunately had Cahill ahead ov Vidic and his 11 points.

A couple of nice scores that came from a romp against West Ham. Cold Dog Soup didn't bother captaining the only Arsenal player on the squad. Instead Gibbs watched on as the Chelsea Midfield Renaissance continued with Mata and Lampard getting all of the glory. Lobo also had the lone Sunderland force of Fletcher on the squad to complement further midfield brilliance from Silva.

Gold went to FC Springfield on the march back to Small Rocks. 36 points from Walcott and 16 from Silva got a smattering of other solid scores to t0p the 32 All Rocks teams.

Silver went to Nomadic Man. Wildcard was played for Podolski, Sturridge, Cole, Zabaleta, Johnson, Cabaye. Not bad things to find on the market like that. Girourd was persnuffed in Small till just now after a fine weekend.

Not bad when Baines comes around every once and again and knocks in 17 points on a matchday. For most defenders good for a clean sheet that takes about 5 weeks. Tevez is given the armband for Top Shelf but Rooney commandeers 13 points as well to grab the gold. Arteta is still on the squad so we are not quite sure if Dave is awake or not at the wheel. BiggerBoat chose a nice weekend to reestablish the Centurion or the 100 point lead. Wiggum is the latest victim of the massive exhaust trail that come from burning oil and who knows what else. 28 transfers and 13 Gameweeks to go. For this weekend, everyone in defense was on deck and even Vidic. Why can't the guy just get healthy. But no matter, Bunn with 11, O'Brien, Samba, Monreal all for 6 and Captain Baines for 8. Even the Aguero and Dzeko combo up front are working again. A little sweat on the Fellaini injury. I don't know if the Belgian duo of Hazard and Fellaini are causing problems for their manager on purpose or not. The lead in the Fantasy Olympics is coming in better focus though.

Silver goes to the Small Rocks Trade d'excellence Manager, FC Touchline Ban. Brings in Sissoko for the 15 point haul. Has Benteke and Le Fondre to enjoy their recent form and cut rate price Fabio to bring in a clean sheet all on the cheap. 23 transfers for the season and looks well positioned to run up the table and challenge for the top of Small Rocks.

Kopite gets silver and seems to be getting everything ready for a Liverpool double gameweek. The Reds defensive line have done a revolving door of trades of late and Carragher, Enrique, Wisdom and Skrtel musical chairs even brought out the wild card. If Liverpool gets some clean sheets and headers from the defensive 7 footers and Stoke gets a good run of form and manages some goals we may see Kopite back here next weekend.
