"What a glorious day to see
    When people live in harmony
When the people minds are open
and they're able to see their hoped for
Won't be no sorrow any more..."

James Dee Crowe, 84. Had been "recuperating in a hospital," no word on from what.

Only a year after his more famous brother Diego's passing, Hugo Maradona died from a heart attack at his home in Monte di Procida, near Naples, on 28 December 2021, at the age of 52.

Although nothing like his brother , he had a decent career mostly in Japan.

    RIP!

Many people joke that in the past couple of generations of NFL fans, they only know him as a name of a video game, but that merely puts him up there with the name of FIFA. And he would love that, cause if he wasn't able to be there of the love of the game it still carried on. I hardly remember his days as a coach but his days as announcer made me fall in love with the game of American football. His understanding of where the video game should be early on, made the game it is today, even if the tech wasn't there yet.

Attended my first Raider game in '74 when I was 8 (lost to Denver ).
Dad and I had season tickets the rest of the decade so I got to witness some of Madden's best teams including the '76 Super Bowl season.
Saw his final game against Minnesota in '78 although none of us knew it would be his last. His retirement shocked everyone.
During his popular stint as a TV analyst I took pride knowing he once coached my favorite team. I collect old NFL games and the Summerall-Madden broadcasts are my favorite regardless of the teams involved.
    This one hurts. :(
