TV host, conservationist, and guy who has traveled just about everywhere, Sir Richard Attenborough is STILL alive. He is 100 years old today. He has hosted Life on Earth and a wide array of biology and nature shows on the BBC and elsewhere. His first show, about the "rediscovery" of the Coelacanth, was in 1952. His first series was a game show the same yearml. He hosted Earth Quest in 1954. At 100, he is basically old enough to have watched evolution take place. Certainly climate change. Probably his greatest professional triumph? He was "controller" of BBC2 in the late 1960's and one of the shows he commissioned was: Monty Python's Flying Circus (and there was much rejoicing, I know that is from Monty Python and the Holy Grail) He truly has a life well lived. An exemplary human being in just about every way.
Up and coming filmmaker, billionaire, and famous toy producer, best known as a director (I believe) for the Sci Fi epic THX-1186, George Lucas is still alive and 82 years old. He has only directed six movies in his 55 year Hollywood career: The aforementioned THX-1186 American Graffiti Star Wars Episode I-The Phantom Menace Episode II-The Attack of the Clones Episode III-Revenge of the Sith What an f'n slacker! He is the pride of Modesto, California. Not so sure he is proud of being from Modesto, California.
Also born today, Singer, Songrwriter, "Talking Head" and the single worst male suit model in history, David Byrne is still alive! He is 72 years old, but would look way younger if he dyed his hair. Plus, forever useless "politician" Jill Stein is still alive and 76 years old today. Very prolific and occasionally, decent (if we can overlook one of the worst films of all time-Forrest Gump), filmmaker Robert Zemeckis is still alive and kicking at 75 years old. Oh, and sixth richest "human" (assuming that moniker fits the evil man/boy), Mark Zuckerberg is, sadly, still alive and 42 years old. Your data has built him a fortune of $212,200,000,000. Oh, and he "made" $610,000,000 this year!
Rachel Robinson the wife of Jackie Robinson is 103 years old! She still looks amazing! What a blessing!❤️🙏 pic.twitter.com/PZgjMOHocU— Amunet (@freakoutsideofx) May 21, 2026
Former "Miss America" (is that still a thing?), tv actress with a career spanning 60 years, fiancée of Joe DiMaggio (who was NOT Marilyn Monroe) and third best Catwoman opposite Adam West's Batman (Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt were both better) Lee Meriwether is still alive and is 91 years old.
Mr. Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund, is still alive and 79 years old today. Funny, he does not look a day over 75!
