I don't think this was mentioned anywhere else, but the Supreme Court today held oral arguments over the technical question of whether individual tax-payers have standing to challenge unconstitutional government spending. The issue? Bringing a suit to challenge Bush's spending on Faith-Based Initiatives. The transcript can be read here.
It seems odd to me to think that any agency of any sort can come to the table without philosophical baises or assumptions, religious or otherwise. As long as the initiatives have some sort of accountability to show productivity, there's a lot worse things we can be doing with our money.
