Erpen made 40 appearances for D.C. United, scoring 4 goals, and took part in the 2006 MLS All Star game, against FA Premier League champions Chelsea after being called up as a replacement for injured Eddie Pope. Today after a spell in the Rapids and a few games in Miami FC Facu is in Instituto de Cordoba in the Argentine Primera B Nacional, it is the Argentine concurrent 3rd division, there are actually two 3rd divisions Metropolitano, which includes only teams from Buenos Aires, and Nacional, teams from across the country. since 2009 he has played 56 games for the club.
Facundo is now in la B nacional with his club and will play in the Argentine second division. He has 70 appearances.
He was one of my daughter's favorite players when he was with DCU. I liked him too, he never was "conventional" in the way he played defense.
Erpen played and was red carded against River this past weekend. He has a very good game. http://www.supergol.com.ar/2011/10/15/28500.php
Facundo Erpen has been transfered to Atlas of Mexico follwing two very good seasons at Instituto de Cordoba. http://mundod.lavoz.com.ar/futbol/facundo-erpen-se-despidio-instituto?comunidad=3666
Thanks for the updates, I always thought he got a bad rap here. He made some rash challenges, but after watching his "successors" the past few seasons, I wish he still was here.
Would I trade another season of Woolard for a bit of Erp-fu? Absolutely. I miss Facundo. Glad to see he's doing well.
And I like the quotes around "successors" in the earlier post. Its not like our defense has had much success in the last few years...
