Feels a bit irrelevant this game given the circumstances; - half our defenders unavailable (Yoro, Fish, Malacia already injured, Shaw, Lindelof & AWB have not traveled) - their Euro finalists not even due back to training until Monday (Foden, Walker, Stones, Rodri) - players from both teams that were at Euros will only get limited minutes as only just started training - so all about squad depth and we already know ours is garbage - Pep doesnt care much for this competition as has lost last three So unless they tear us a new one and run right through us (in which case the already sharpened media knives will be out for EtH) I dont see this mattering much unless we pick up any more injuries. Is all about being as ready as possible in the circumstances for the real game on Friday.
Nice move Amad & Rashford, Amad squares it to our false #9 Mount for the tap in ….. but he is half asleep and behind play. Worth every penny of his £55m+£5m transfer fee & £250k+£50k bonus per week wages until at least 2028 …
Highlight of the game so far Ian Wright “we all love him, but you cant hug him” The difference between greeting @IanWright0 and greeting Roy Keane 🤣#CommunityShield pic.twitter.com/AwUCGdS0U1— Emirates FA Cup (@EmiratesFACup) August 10, 2024
Off - Mount, Amad, Maguire, Mainoo On - McT, Garnacho, Pellistri, Collyer Licha still playing (now at CB) given injury history and only back recently from the Copa, surprised and concerned he is still playing (even if we need a fill in CB). Not worth risking him for this many minutes in this match.
Great move Bruno, Garnacho squares it and Rashford shins it onto the post ffs … Nice play before that Cas & Collyer to feed it with pace to Bruno. Now Rash heads it down from corner to McT who goes with wrong leg and misses it completely … Same issue - cant finish.
so much for Rashford looking ready. looking very likely we will see last year's Rashford instead of the year before
Love watching Onana, our goalkeeper, rooted to his spot on a goal that was in reach. Again, his biggest risk is not knowing how to be a goalkeeper
