Italian diminutive defender Fabio Cannavaro has sparked a bidding war between Manchester United and Chelsea (apparently) by announcing he is ready to move to England according to the News of the World

Which means we shall be losing some defenders: Fulham are lining up a summer move for Chelsea's Nigerian defender Celestine Babayaro

Melchiot? I like Melchiot to be honest. But maybe he has had his day. I thought he played well aginst Arsenal.

Don't know much about the Italian lad to be honest.
When it comes to defenders though the word "diminutive" doesn't make me exactly jump for joy.

Babayaro - he's our longest serving first team player now and i think he's and ideal back up to Bridge who seems to have settled down quite well after some dodgy starts.Having an every day starter at full back is the way to go and having somebody that is an able replacement is ideal.
Would whomever cam in to the squad be willing to do that?

As for Melchiot i like him also, but i think he's gone in the off season and a "name" player will be bought for the every day starter with young Johnson getting his tuition and runs out to gain expierence.
