Carrick or RVP shouldn't even be in the squad for this one. ------------De Gea------------ -------Smalling---Vidic/Jones Rafael---------------------Buttner ------Anderson--Giggs Nani-----Rooney---Kagawa ----------Cheech
-------------Cheech-------- --------------------------Rooney -Nani------------------------------------Valencia --------------Anderson------Scholes Buttner-------------------------------------Jones -------------Ferdinand-----Smalling
Valencia looks like he needs to be put out to pasture. #7 shirt too heavy, me thinks. I would rather see Fletcher out on the right, tbh.
LETS WIN THIS ONE!* *WITHOUT GETTING ANYONE HURT BECAUSE THE LEAGUE AND CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ARE MORE IMPORTANT.
Honestly, given how shit the wings have been I wouldn't mind seeing Fletch at RB. If we didn't have a injury crisis in defense I'd regularly like to see Rafael there unless Valencia finds his balls. Thank God we have Nani back.
I know this sounds terrible, but the lack of wing options might be a blessing in disguise. We will be forced to play Nani and perhaps even Rooney wide.
Fabio is a more viable wing option. Rafael doesn't real understand how to be a proper outlet and is less involved than at fullback. We'd be better off just asking the right mid to cover for Rafa on the overlap.
If Nani comes back motivated and ready for a fight this tiff may turn out to have been a blessing; as he will be fresh for the run in.
Lindegaard, Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Buttner, Valencia, Anderson, Giggs, Nani, Chicharito, Rooney Subs: Amos, Ferdinand, Carrick, Scholes, Kagawa, Welbeck, RvP
That midfield tells us about how limited our midfield options are. I am happy about Smalling Jones partnership but surely we need to give Rafael a rest.
