I sincerely hope that yesterday's performance was due to either fatigue or looking forward to Saturday. B/c if we play like we did, we have no chance.

I think the older players are looking to get some final trophies on their way out the door. Drogba should start up top because he's not very effective off the bench. He needs to know that he will be the game.

Unfortunately, Torres is not effective off the bench, either. Unless we're playing Barca.

that is what a game mostly without Lampard looks like (no Mata or Drogs but a malouda and a miereles did not help either), until we replace him with the two or three players (ie real attackers and a passing midfielder) the machine gotta play in necessary matches

Hopefully we see a malouda miereles free starting line up here.

I don't know what to expect from this one. Liverpool will be fired up, for sure. They've beaten us four in a row.

This should fire us up. I wish Mata wasn't an empty uniform these past 2 months.

That empty uniform has 7 assists in that time span, and a great beard, not sure what you are moaning about.

Really hoping we can win this one although tbh I haven't a clue how its going to go after our horror show against the barcodes. The bindippers always raise their game against us.....hopefully we can turn them over at Wembley. Really irritating that the game kicks off at 5.15pm. Would much prefer a 3 pm start for an FA cup final.

Liverpool had an equally terrible, if not worse, game against Fulham. They similarly fielded a B-Team, though.

I don't think there's a lot to glean from the Newcastle match (or Liverpool-Fulham for that matter. We played like shit because Malouda, Meireles, Sturridge, and Bosingwa all had terrible matches, and none of them (save Bos, maybe) will be in the starting line-up at Wembley.

With the right personnel on the field, I'm still confident we can clean the scum off the pitch.

i'm really looking forward to this one. Watching Chelsea lift some good silverware after such an up and down season would be fantastic.

We have to win this as it'll be the only significant match left this season in which JT, Ivan and Ramires can play. We really have to neutralize Suarez. After seeing what Cisse was able to do the other day, Suarez scares me even more. We could really use Cahill in this one.

considering both Ivan and Terry are out of the CL final, i would say those two would be automatic starters anyway for the FA cup final. which really only leaves Bosingwa as our less than desired back 4. and he's shown decently for himself lately.

if we can get both luiz and cahill back for the CL final, i'll feel good about our chances.

I thought they were officially doubtful?

Given the Newcastle result, our game in midweek is almost irrelevant, so we're not automatically starting who's available, but who makes the most sense. Against 'Pool I'm not as worried about Bosingwa, but man, we're going to really struggle with him/Paulo on the right, unless we have some other plan I'm unaware of. At this point I'd play Ashley there and Bertrand on the left.
