And it all comes down to this... Wembley. 5:30pm local time. 2:30pm USA (ESPN+) - 2:30pm Canada (Sportsnet) - 2:30am Australia (hello 5am celebratory/commiseration drinks). What we went into the final match day with is who we are probably taking into the cup final with the addition of Bellerin who missed the Watford match with a tight calf. No Mustafi, no Leno, no Martinelli, no worries. FA Cup is our cup, last time we beat City in the Semis to meet Chelsea in the final we got the biscuits in the end. Time for a repeat of 2017. Its been a wild season, and an insane 12 months for this club, but its time to end the shit-show known as the 19/20 football season on a high and get Arteta his first piece of silverware. Have at it!
FYI, US Eastern time is 5 hours from London time, so it should be a 12:30 pm kickoff, 9:30 am west coast. And f*** ESPN, why can't they put the FA Cup final on ESPN or ESPN2 or even ABC? I assume 3 at the back. Holding, Luiz, Kolasinac? Or does Tierney play LCB and someone else (AMN? Saka?) play LWB?
One hand: True dat. FA Cup final has been on Fox in the past and this is two big clubs. Other hand: Have you actually watched Arsenal play lately? Not exactly endearing stuff!
Unfortunately I won't be able to watch, I don't yet have a pay provider although I intend to get Hulu + live TV when I do, it has some good channels and also all the major sports networks (the entire ESPN and Fox families of sports networks). But anyways, COYF'n'G!!! Beat Chel$ki!!! We did it in 2017 (after getting by ManCHEATER City in the semifinals both this year and in 2017) and we can do it again!!! Also here is some of my memorabilia from that famous 2017 Final in which we won and the kit we were wearing on that famous day at Wembley!!!
Let the record show that having divested myself of the children for the weekend I will be hiking Yonah Mountain that day. 5 mile round trip, 1,500 elevation change, and hopefully a pound or two lost around my waist. Up the Gunners!
Why not add a man of culture too. If you do it twice does Mike Dean slip in the shower and break a hip?
Wow, we're really getting seriously retro superstitious aren't we! Except that Tex has graciously allowed others to "Kill". I may save my own little tick for shortly before the match. In the meantime, I had this somewhat optimistic thought as I was driving home listening to some podcast or another: We beat the mighty City and we did it pretty convincingly, even if it wasn't exactly the style/gameplan that Arteta hopes to practice long-term. The main memory of that game was how it was such a collective effort, and as a group we played well. If we can just channel that recent history, it should give our team confidence and belief.
Seems like 6:30 AM here in locked down Hawaii. Not too bad... Coolers is no more (another victim of the lockdown) so I guess I'll watch from the couch.
Whoa! You’re in HI?! Did you try to look up our old mate goonermaui?? He’s generally missed around here.
In case anyone was holding out hope that Ozil might feature in the final Mesut Ozil is in Turkey, as reported by @ChrisWheatley_. Club gave him approval to go as wasn’t going to be involved. Only 10 non-playing players allowed at tomorrow’s final as well as match day squad.— Charles Watts (@charles_watts) July 31, 2020
Just heard the odds of Luiz opening scoring are 25:1. Which is lower even than Ozil... who won’t even be in the squad!Someone should bet on those odds.
Roger. Haven't seen him lately. Probably since Coolers closed (talk about victims of the campaign), that I saw him last.
Chelsea's best bet could be to blitz us early, if nothing comes they could drop off, give us a false sense of security and then expose our inconsistent center backs on the break.
I'm assuming they're not counting OGs, or else Luiz should be about 8:1. Also, slight change of plans for me: Helen, GA area had 3-4" of rain yesterday, so conditions for mountain hiking aren't prime today. So instead I'm doing a 4 mile loop at a local preserve just off Lake Lanier. Views aren't as nice but no risk of plummeting to a gruesome demise, which is a good thing at my age. C'mon you Gunners! Bring home the Cup!
