5th round FA Cup draw - Liverpool v Portsmouth, Manchester United v Man City or Spurs, Tranmere v Swansea, Telford or Millwall v Burnley, Sunderland v Birmingham, Sheffield United v Coventry or Colchester, Arsenal v Chelsea, , Everton or Fulham v West Ham.

Could have been worse. At least we've got a home fixture and it won't be a lower division club with every thing on the line in a single game. Obviously the Arse-Chelski tie at Highbury is a TV match, as would be the United-City match if it comes off but I think ours will also make the card for broadcast.

I like the draw. Its good to know that either Chelski or Arsenal will be gone. And hopefully City can get past Spurs so they can play the scum. If City can beat the the Scum, our only good competition left would be the winner of Chesea/Arsenal. I wish we could have got Tranmere or Swansea, but we should beat Pompey.

I would like to think we can get through to the 6th round, and would like City to have another shot at United at Old Trafford. But, I'd rather Chelsea knock out Arsenal. Taking into account season long form, Chelsea has been more erratic then Arsenal. The best possible 6th round draw would be one minus United and Arsenal and with us and Chelsea. Leaving 2 "glamour" teams and the one that we've managed to beat this season.

If FSW shows three ties, then they might toss us on the schedule. Otherwise it's United-whoever and Arsenal-Chelsea.

  6. This sounds about right to me. Portsmouth is an intriguing matchup.

FWIW, there were three FA Cup matches picked up by FSW this round; Chelski's, ours, and Man City-Spurs (to be aired today).

Very odd, I had dreamt that we got Pompey at home in the draw and we did. The dream didn't reveal the outcome of the match tho'!!

Anybody at home is all you can ask for. Portsmouth's away form hasn't been that great either. But it's the cup "anything can happen".

Love to see Tranmere advance some more too.

I would've liked to play Tranmere. They were our opponent at about this stage the last time we won the Cup. Ofcourse, they won't have Robbie arouind to gift them a goal. Aldo was their manager at the time as well.

Pretty much the only thing I was hoping for. Considering there were three other teams I'd rather have avoided - even if we got them at home - right now (hopefully in a few weeks it wouldn't matter who and where we play), we got a nice draw.

That's what I thought last time out...!

But it can't happen again...can it?

NO, I'll take Pompy at home, should be a good match, we're getting back to form each match.

Trivial information, but the guardian say the united and liverpool ties will be sky broadcasts, so knowing the relationship between fsw and sky, the chances of at least seeing the game on tape is good.

I haven't seen Portsmouth play this season, just a few highlights of some Paddy Berger goals (he's still got it at times). I hope we can get through to the 6th round--if we do, it would help to build some momentum for the end of season push as well as get us closer it lifting a trophy this season. "touching wood as type ;)"
