Interesting tie, we get each other, Pool and the Chavs get probably the shittest teams left in the competition at home.

Will be a good game though, whoever wins it will have the momentum to win the thing. Good luck.

Is that 9 ties in a row against PL teams in the FA Cup now?
And we're supposed to get all the "luck"?

We can win this, but it's a lot of drama and effort just days before the Lyon game.

Chelsea are the big winners here. They are getting easy games in the cup competitions and are going to roll forward in the league while United and Arsenal drain energy in the cups.

'Fraid not, there should be enough lower league league sides to last those two at least into the semis.

As of now I am going to stick my neck out for the following teams to win:
    Bristol Rovers v Southampton
    Cardiff City v Wolverhampton Wanderers
    Sheffield United v Middlesbrough
    Liverpool v Barnsley
    Manchester United v Arsenal
    Preston North End v Portsmouth
Coventry City v West Bromwich Albion
    Chelsea v Huddersfield Town

    ...and the following QF draw:

    Manchester United v Portsmouth
    Chelsea v Bristol Rovers
Cardiff City v West Bromwich Albion
    Sheffield United v Liverpool

    16th or 17th of February.

They'll announce the TV games in the next day or two which we'll obviously be one of.

The way I see it, I'd much rather get this tie now than in the final. You have to beat the best to win these things any way.

We'll beat Arsenal at home. We played them off the park when we went to their gaffe.... :)

I thought we lost 2-2? I'm sure I remember all the Arsenal newbies invade this board to celebrate?

Chelsea did this all through last season too in the Carling and F.A Cup when Lampard scored about 50 or something goals.

Nice to see Perry Groves does not change his colours..

Thinks it will be 'easy' for Arsenal in our back-yard...

When will we get the luck of the draw just for once..?!

This has to be some sort of joke, surely. Oh well, I'll take a fully fit United against almost any team. Chelsea will get through, but I think livershite will be in for a tough test.

    WHAT THE F**K

How can anyone say this bullshit is not rigged, huh? I don't know if I'm angry or ok with this tie at the moment, but the principle of the matter here is BOLLOCKS. That is Prem competition for the last 10 rounds of this bloody competition, WTF. Tell me the BEEB doesn't have this nonsense rigged, or the FA, or whoever. This is garbage. They are practically letting Chelsea and Liverpool stroll up to the top (well just Chelsea, since Lpool can't be safe against Blue Square teams), letting 2 of their main competitors eliminate each other in this game.

    F**K off FA.

i'm not surprised... i expected it was going to be one of the other top three or even liverpool. it will be a great match but the CL game the following week worries me. the only "good" thing is that Arsenal will have the same decisions as us to make as far as resting players.

best case scenario is to have the FA Cup tie on Saturday and the CL game on Wednesday.

It really would be nice to play a crap team, to get that easy place in the next round, but I'm glad we get the harder teams. We always up our game a few notches, and hopefully will keep us in the zone as we head into the CL knockout phases.

The risk with getting a League One side though is taking our foot off the pedal and ending up with a lineup that's not familiar with one another and takes 30-40 minutes to settle into the game. Better to keep with the full-strength sides as long as we can. At the risk of sounding like a retarded chimp, I say bring em on.

Besides, Liverpool will sneak past Barnsley on an 80th minute own-goal and fans will hail the Rafalution, calling for Benitez to be named Emperor for Life.

well that could happen with chelsea and liverpool considering they have the CL games the following week as well. i see it happening more with liverpool than chelsea but if they rest players and put out that semi-unfamiliar lineup it could help.

key for us - Lehman in goal.

My beef is that it's a game we'll need to go full tilt in, so close to a CL tie. And Lyon are not going to be pushovers at all.

Eh, I guess this tie will give us some experience playing a French team before we play Lyon ;)

So, the Gooners at Old Trafford.....

Tough game, but it could have been worse.

No surprise that the scousers and the rent boys got easy draws... it's like the FA have their own "spread the wealth" plan.
